Germany: Iranian spies targeted Israel embassy, Jewish kindergartens

The German journalist who first reported raids by local security forces at the homes of suspected Iranian spies across Germany supplied new details Wednesday about the Israeli and Jewish targets allegedly monitored by the suspects.

Josef Hufelschulte, of the weekly German-language magazine FOCUS, told Israeli public broadcaster Kan that the suspected spies had been gathering information on the Israeli embassy in Berlin, as well as on targets related to the local Jewish community, including kindergartens.

Turkey: Attack on Israeli embassy

A man wielding a knife has been shot after attempting to attack the Israeli embassy in Turkey.

The suspect was shot in the leg and detained after trying to carry out a stabbing attack on Wednesday.

Authorities are believed to be investigating links to Islamist terrorism after police told Reuters the man was shouting "Allahu Akbar", meaning "God is Great" in Arabic, during the incident.

Police have launched a terror investigation into the attack, which comes after calls by Isis and al-Qaeda for supporters to launch "lone wolf" attacks in countries perceived as enemies.

The arrested man was locally identified as a 38-year-old construction worker from Karaman province, who was said to be mentally ill.

UK: Amnesty stages "solidarity show" in front of Israeli embassy in London

One wonders why they don't take their show to the Saudi Arabia embassy in protest at stonings, beheadings, amputations, religious and gender discrimination etc.  We all know the answer, don't we?

The Jewish Chronicle reports:

Fire-eaters, clowns on stilts and jugglers were part of a circus-themed protest aimed at raising awareness of the case of a Palestinian performer detained by Israeli authorities.

The demonstration outside the Israeli embassy in west London on Monday, included a 20-minute "solidarity street show" organised by Amnesty International UK.

The charity said it wanted to make people aware of the case of 23-year-old Mohammad Abu Sakha, who was detained without charge by the IDF last December. Mr Abu Sakha is part of the Palestinian Circus School which trains children. He is said to specialise in working with children with special needs.

Amnesty said he was held by Israeli soldiers at a checkpoint while travelling from his parents' home in Jenin to work at the circus school in Birzeit, near Ramallah.

Germany: 'ISIS-inspired terror plot sought to target Israel's embassy in Berlin'

The public prosecutor in Berlin charged two men, both of whom are believed to have been animated by Islamic State, with planning an attack on Israel’s embassy or another Israeli institution between December 2014 and July 2015, Tobiah Kaehni a spokesman for Berlin's Criminal Court told The Jerusalem Post on Wednesday.

Both men are Berlin-born but of Palestinian background.

The prosecution in Berlin opened its case on Tuesday against Mohamed El-N and  Ali El-I., both of whom are 21-years-old. The men are charged with “planning a massive act of violence.”

Germany: Israeli ambassador reading some of the many hate-mails he gets

The Israeli embassy in Berlin gets 20 hate mails a day.  In a clip prepared by the Berliner Morgenpost, Israeli Ambassador Yakov Hadas-Handelsman reads a few of them out.

"It's the truth that the Jews are resting on the Holocaust, and they are just too lazy to work."

"Child murderer, I hope a rocket will fly up your ass."

"Israel, you are murderers and everybody hates you.  May God punish you and your families."

"Mankind will only live in peace when the last rat-Jew has bitten the dust."

France: Four arrested for death threats against Israeli consul, Jewish MP

Four men were arrested in Paris on Tuesday for sending death threats via Facebook to officials from the Consulate General of Israel in Marseille and to the Jewish MP Meyer Habib.

One of those arrested is a 19-year-old high-school Muslim student.  He shared violent Islamic State videos on his account and wrote that the Israeli diplomat (Israeli consul Barnea Hassid) and Jewish MP will meet the same fate".

The Consul and MP also received emails which included graphics of people beheaded by the Islamic State.

Greece: Attack on Israeli embassy

Unidentified assailants opened fire on the Israeli embassy in Athens with a Kalashnikov assault rifle in the early hours of Friday. No injuries were reported.

Four people on two motorcycles fired shots at the embassy building in a northern suburb of Athens, according to a police official . Bullets were lodged in the walls and 54 spent bullet cases were found about 40 meters (yards) from the building, police said.

The Greek government condemned the incident.

Ireland: Fake tweets from Israeli Embassy taunt Irish

The Israeli Embassy in Ireland is battling a new threat these days – fake Tweets. Unknown perpetrators attempted to discredit the embassy by uploading a screenshot of fake Tweets to Reddit Ireland, purporting to come from the Israeli Embassy's official account, which taunted the Irish government and people.

A few weeks later, a popular Irish student website, oxygen.ie, mocked the scandal by putting up its own version of fake Israeli embassy Tweets, which were posted on the sattire section of the site.

The satirical Tweets were later spread across the internet and mistaken for official Tweets by the Israel Embassy in Ireland - prompting threats of legal action by the embassy against the student website.

Italy: Pig heads sent to Israeli embassy, synagogue in Rome

Boxes containing pigs' heads have been sent to the Israeli embassy in Rome and the city's synagogue, Italian media reported Saturday.

The package mailed to the embassy in the wealthy Parioli area of the Italian capital was intercepted by police after other similar parcels were sent to the synagogue and the Jewish Museum of Rome.

Belgium: Knife-wielding man arrested at Israeli embassy

Belgian police have arrested a man whom they suspect of planning an attack against Israeli diplomats in Brussels. 

The police department of Uccle, the Brussels suburb where the Israeli embassy is located, on Tuesday confirmed the Oct. 17 arrest of one man who is thought to have tried to enter the embassy while carrying a concealed knife, RTL reported.

Update: The incident occurred about a month ago.  According to the Jerusalem Post, the man is a Belgian convert to Islam.  An Iranian national was detained by the police outside the embassy, and later released.  According to 7sur7, the Israelis strongly suspect a connection between the two incidents.  Belgian authorities deny any such link.
