Netherlands: newspaper slammed for ‘anti-Semitic’ cartoon on Gaza protests

Via Times of Israel:
A newspaper in the Netherlands has come under fire for publishing a cartoon depicting an Israeli soldier shooting masses of Palestinians on the Gaza border in celebration of the Jewish state’s 70th Independence Day, which was marked on Thursday.

The cartoon, published in Volkskrant, a major Dutch paper, depicts an IDF soldier wearing sunglasses and adorned with a Star of David on his back. Having put a frightened-looking unarmed Palestinian against a wall, he fires a barrage of bullets to spell out “Happy birthday to me” — passing across the Palestinian’s chest along the way.

Bodies of what seems to be other protesters lie nearby, next to what could be seen as a pile of bodies of slaughtered demonstrators who participated in the weekly “March of Return” mass rallies organized by Hamas, the terror group which runs the Gaza Strip.

UK: Corbyn’s campaign chief is member of anti-semitic Facebook groups which say 7/7 attacks were an ‘inside job’

Via Sun:
LABOUR’S campaign boss was signed up to a string of vile Facebook pages including anti-semitic memes and conspiracy theories, it emerged today.

Andrew Gwynne - who has boasted about his campaign’s tech skills - joined groups which accused the royals of paedophilia and claimed the 7/7 attack was an inside job.

He appears to have hastily unsubscribed from the groups after being exposed by the Guido Fawkes website - and claims he was added to them without knowing.

One of the groups which Mr Gwynne, the MP for Denton and Reddish, belonged to was called “STOP ZIONIST USA!”

Other members of the group posted messages claiming that Jewish people were responsible for all global terrorism and blaming wealthy Jews for “everything awful going on in this world”.

Germany: Guide at Anne Frank Center in Berlin compares Jewish suffering under Nazis to Palestinians under Israel

It is yet again painfully clear that European organisations like the Anne Frank Center in Berlin are often incapable of applying proper vetting procedures when hiring staff.

  Via JTA:
The Anne Frank Center in Berlin has distanced itself from the statement of a freelance guide who compared the suffering of Jews under the Nazis to that of Palestinians under Israeli occupation today.
At issue was a profile of Nesreen Hajjaj, a 24-year-old Berliner of Palestinian background, in the July 19 online English version of Al Arabiya, a Saudi-owned news outlet. Hajjaj is one of 25 freelance guides who introduce visitors to the exhibition at the Anne Frank Zentrum Berlin.
Hajjaj told the interviewer that “many things that happened to the Jews during the Nazi rule are happening to the Palestinians now. Jewish people were kicked out of their homes and denied an education. Today Palestinian lands and houses are being conquered,” she told the online publication.
She said she had been called an “infidel and a hypocrite” on social media for taking the job with the center.
Her answer to critics: “We must be open-minded toward different people, especially if you live within their societies.”
Patrick Siegele, director of the Anne Frank Zentrum, told JTA that Hajjaj’s comment was “incorrect and painful … and does not reflect the official position of the Anne Frank Zentrum. Furthermore, the Anne Frank Zentrum distances itself from this position.”

European officials accuse Israel of ‘systematic unlawful killings’ in Gaza

Via Times of Israel:

A European inter-governmental group accused Israel of engaging in “apparently systematic unlawful killings” of Palestinian civilians in the buffer zone areas between the Gaza Strip and Israel over the past several years, and of exacerbating a humanitarian crisis in the blockaded Palestinian enclave.

The Council of Europe’s Parliamentary Assembly, also known as PACE, voted on Tuesday in favor of a resolution, based on an internal report on the humanitarian situation in the Hamas-ruled Palestinian enclave, which charges Israel with “excessive and intentional force without justification against Palestinian civilians in the buffer zone, including against farmers, journalists, medical crews and peaceful protesters, [which] runs blatantly counter to human rights principles and the international law-enforcement standards.”

“Cases of the deliberate fatal shooting of individuals who posed no imminent danger to life amounts to an appalling pattern of apparently systematic unlawful killings,” read the report, which was composed by Eva-Lena Jansson, a Swedish politician from the Swedish Social Democratic Party, and presented on January 4 to the assembly, made up of 324 parliamentarians from 47 countries.

The report cites a Palestinian NGO which is said to have “documented the killing of 136 Palestinians in Gaza by Israeli live fire in the buffer zone, including 20 children,” since 2010.

UK: Ringleader of ‘violent’ UCL protest believes 'Zionists' control the media, economy

Sounds familiar?

Via CAA:
CAA reports antisemitic tweets by ringleader of ‘violent’ UCL protest to police and university

Campaign Against Antisemitism has referred the leader of a ‘violent’ protest at UCL last week to the Metropolitan Police Service and UCL over antisemitic tweets which have come to light.

The protest last Thursday against the presence of an Israeli speaker at the university reportedly resulted in three female students being assaulted, whilst protesters surrounded and trapped attendees despite efforts by university security and police to separate them from the protesters. At one point protesters jumped through a window to confront the terrified audience of predominantly Jewish students.

Now, Campaign Against Antisemitism has contacted the police and the university regarding security at the event, the conduct of the protesters, and in particular their leader, UCLU Friends of Palestine Society President Yahya Abu Seido. Though Abu Seido’s Twitter account is protected, CAA has obtained tweets stating that:

    “ISIS serves Israel”
    The media is “Zionist”
    “Zionists own the economy”
    Israel should be destroyed
    Israel is pursuing “Nazism”
“Little Israeli girls get brave on Twitter”

UK: Speakers at Pro-Palestinian event in House of Lords blame Zionists for Holocaust

The whole post is worth reading, if you can stomach the hatred.

Via David Collier:
Yesterday there was an event at the House of Lords, put together by the Palestine Return Council (PRC). The evening was hosted by Jenny Tonge.

(...)

At a certain point in the evening, four ultra-orthodox Jews from the Neturei Karta showed up. As relevant to Judaism as some esoteric Christian sect is to Christianity, yet these same handful are at the front of every anti-Israeli action in the UK. When one came to talk, it is difficult to overstate the bile that came from his mouth.

First, he compared Israel to ISIS. “Isis is a perversion of Islam just as Zionism is a perversion of Judaism.” Then he continued:
One of the main Zionists in America, Rabbi Stephen Wise,  a reform, a heretic, so called Rabbi,  he spoke in the New York Times in 1905, there are six million, note the number, bleeding and suffering reasons to justify Zionism.

I cannot stress strongly enough the implication of the instruction to ‘note the number’. This is from a holocaust denial script. The suggestion used on neo-Nazi sites is that this quote is evidence that the Jews had already decided on the six million figure 40 years before the holocaust. Therefore, the holocaust is a hoax.  You can read an example here (NOT SAFE FOR WORK). Why else mention it?  If you Google Rabbi Stephen Wise and six million, almost every site on the page is one to avoid.

Not done with regurgitating the holocaust hoax argument, the man then continued:

“And thirty years later, he made the boycott on Germany, the economic boycott on Germany which antagonised Hitler, over the edge, to then want to systematically kill Jews wherever he could find them. As opposed to ‘Judenrein’, to make Germany free of Jews, a Jew free land. Which is enough, but that is noted by one of our Rabbis, that is what pushed him over the edge. His personal secretary Ribbentrop was in Nuremberg trials, he said to Rabbi Wise(?), this is what, he became a madman after this boycott, Judea declares war on Germany. In Manhattan they had 100, 000 people marching in the economic boycott in 1935, it was the same heretic rabbi who caused that.”

This places the blame of the holocaust squarely onto the Zionists.  Unlike Livingstone, this isn’t even an accusation of a life-saving deal, this is saying that the Zionist actions caused Hitler to go mad and kill Jews.  Good Jews, bad Zionists.  If you want to read more of this type of thought, you can find it on neo-Nazi sites such as Rense or Stormfront.  The one other place where such thought is entertained is on the Satmar website.

Another comment from the audience:

“Chaim Weizmann did a confidence trick back in 1917/1918. He made the British establishment think that world Jewry had power that it just didn’t have. The trouble is, 100 years on, I am not talking about world Jewry, I am talking about ‘that segment’ which we call the ‘Zionist movement’ has that power, and it has it over our own parliament”.

Belgium: Antisemitic government official forced to resign after media discovers he's also racist

Note that he didn't resign because he called Jews terrorists and Nazis.  He resigned because he posted other racist and hateful statements.

As too often happens, bigots get a pass on antisemitism, but have to resign when discovered that's not their only vice.

Via JTA:
A Belgian official who compared Israel to Nazi Germany and the Islamic State is no longer employed as a minister’s adviser on tolerance.

Youssef Kobo, the adviser on diversity for the minister in charge of equal opportunity in the regional government of Brussels, offered to resign after finding he could no longer fulfill his duties, a ministry spokesperson told the HLN news website on Monday.

Last month, Kobo apologized for his vitriol against Israel, which he said was a modern Nazi Germany and “an identical twin” of the Islamic State terrorist group.

The Muslim official said he was “young and stupid” when he wrote the Facebook posts in 2014, which Kobo said he “regrets,” the La Capitale daily reported. The newspaper had contacted Kobo, 28, following criticism by the Belgian League Against Anti-Semitism.

However, in recent days the Belgian media discovered earlier tweets in which Kobo proposed to slaughter activists working to prevent the ritual slaughter of animals.

“What if we compromise on slaughtering Gaia-activists instead of sheep?” he wrote, later dismissing the post as an inappropriate joke. Gaia is the mythological spirit of Earth.

Germany: News network accuses Israel of teaching children to murder Palestinians

Via Ynet News:
A documentary titled 'teaching to hate?' will be broadcasted on German mainstream network ZDF. The documentary aims to show how children are educated to kill, and makes comparisons between the Palestinian education systems and Israeli education systems.

An advertisement for a German television documentary which will deal with how children in the Palestinian Authority are taught to hate and kill has caused an uproar for claiming that Israeli children are also taught to hate and kill Palestinians.

The program will be aired on ZDF, a German television channel which is known for its anti-Israel slant.
The ad for the documentary, titled "teaching to hate?" asks the question "how do Israeli and Palestinian children learn to despise one another – and kill?"
The documentary makes the comparison between incitement to murder and hatred in Palestinian schools to the education and incitemetn to hatred which Israeli children alleged receive. This, despite the fact that the documentary clearly and explicitly proves that the education systems which spread incitement to kill and to hate is on the Palestinian side only.

While the documentary doesn't claim that the Israeli education system teaches children to kill Arabs, it does say that Arabs are presented in a negative light in Israeli textbooks. An example of this "racist education" against the Arab population is that the majority of Israeli students, when drawing a picture of an Arab, draw the Arab sitting on a camel.

Following a wave of protests directed at ZDF, the station pulled the anti-Israel ad and ran an apology ad, saying "the wording of the documentary has caused misunderstandings. If someone was hurt by the wording, we ask for their forgiveness."

Greece: "God made a mistake by creating Jews", says Thessaloniki union president

Via Abravanel, the Blog (h/t glykosymoritis):
The history of Thessaloniki, (Salonica/Saloniki), is the history of the Jews and a small example of this can be seen in the travails of the main hall of the Workers Center of Thessaloniki (EKT) named after Avraham Benaroya.

(...)

Still when the Workers Center of Thessaloniki, (a 2nd level organization coordinating all of the syndicates of the city), tried to be named after its illustrious founder it faced major opposition by two different actors; one was traditional antisemitic elements and the second one was the Communist Party which ill-tolerated its jewish roots. As a compromise it was proposed – and accepted – to have the main conference hall named «Avraham Benaroya Hall».

That hall is now often used by various organizations when they need to hold general assemblies. In that hall Dimitrios Tsermenidis/Δημήτρης Τσερμενίδης, president of the Union of Public Transportation Workers of Thessaloniki (ΣΕΟΑΣΘ) uttered the phrase in the beginning of the article. He said many other things like «Jews are responsible for crucifying Christ», «This hall has the name Benaroya because God made a mistake by creating Jews», «Unfortunately Hitler did not complete his work».

Russia: RT headline blames terror attack 'ultra-Orthodox Jewish' gunmen

Via Algemeiner:
Kremlin-affiliated news outlet Russia Today (RT) takes first place for the most misleading headline in all media reporting on yesterday’s bloody terror attack in Tel Aviv, spokesmen for two prominent media watchdog groups told The Algemeiner on Thursday.

In its initial report on the attack, RT ran an article under the headline “2 ‘ultra-Orthodox Jewish’ gunmen kill 1, injure 8 in Tel Aviv.” In response to the portrayal, Simon Plosker, managing editor at Honest Reporting, said that RT ”wins the prize” for “most appalling headline.” Gilead Ini, a senior research analyst  at the Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting in America (CAMERA) described RT’s “short-lived headline” as “dramatically absurd.”

“If anyone ever considered RT, the Kremlin’s propaganda outfit, to be a credible news organization, this headline proves the opposite,” said Plosker. According to Ini, the headline “was quickly changed after CAMERA and others drew attention” to it.

Belgium: Flemish weekly Knack publishes jew-hatred from Abou Jahjah

Zakia Belkhiri, a Belgian Muslim woman, made headlines when she took a selfie of herself at an extreme-right demonstration.  However, it was then discovered that she's full of hate herself.
In one tweet dating from November 2012, she wrote: "Hitler didn't kill all the Jews, he left some. So we know why he was killing them."
And in another Facebook post from March 2014, she used an expletive to describe Jews before adding: "I hate them so much."
Dyab Abou Jahjah, a famous antisemite himself, rushed to her defense.

Guest post by Dr Rudi Roth, Investigative reporter and scientist  (edited by blog admin):

Here what is going on in Belgium after the famous selfie woman affair.

1. VRT rightly removed an article by Abou Jahjah

Abou Jahjah published an article on the site of the public media, VRT.

The article was taken offline in less a than a minute by the VRT.  Abou Jahjah claimed VRT violated his freedom of speech when they prevented him from comparing Israel to Islamic State.

But the article was picked up by the weekly Knack.

It is "very delicate" from the weekly knack.be to publish a Jew-hatred article from that permanent antisemite just after the 2nd commemoration of the antisemitic attack on the Jewish museum in Brussels on May 24th, 2014!

It may be the wish of the Knack management to reinforce the antisemitic feeling in the country so as the create some local Mohammed Merahs that would also kill Jewish toddlers in Jewish schools as happened in Toulouse.

2. The reason for Jahjah's article are these facts:

Just a few days ago it turned out that the Muslim girl making selfies at an extreme-right manifestation in Antwerp and therefor considered as a real hero, was herself a real antisemite.

The quite complete story can be read here (BBC) and also here in Dutch (Joods Actueel) where it is explained by studies of several organisations (from Anti-Defamation League and another by VUB professor Elchardus) that antisemitism is common with young Muslims in Europe and in particular in Belgium. And that this phenomena is reinforced by the extreme anti-Israel statements from the extreme-leftist organisations, including Movement X, led by Abou Jahjah and Karim Hassoun.

Joods Actueel's editor published a call to partner with moderate Muslims; in complete contrast to the the hate statements by Abou Jahjah and his calls for maximum discord.

Abou Jahjah's objective, in addition to creating maximum discord, is to make Jew-hatred socially acceptable under a very light veil of  supposed anti-Zionism.

Knack apparently committed to publish his article, after the public media VRT removed it, probably for its hate-incitement and because VRT didn't want to pollute the commemoration day of the major antisemitic attack in Belgium on May 24th performed by a young Muslim extremist.

While most Belgian media mentioned today the commemoration day, Knack seems to have skipped it. Accident? Or on purpose?

More on the planned Abou Jahjah article below (in 4. & 5.)

3. Not the first time that Knack publishes Jew-hatred articles. Candidate as successor of Der Stürmer?

It is not the first time that Knack publishes Jew-hatred articles. A previous article written by a close relation of Abou Jahjah, Yassine Channouf, was taken offline after a short time when it became clear that is was based on neo-Nazi pseudo-historical and revisionist information. Even extreme-left historians close to the Abou Jahjah groups approved the removal and were therefore seriously insulted by the Abou Jahjah teamers.

More recently, Knack published also an article signed by Karim Hassoun, the successor of Abou Jahjah in his Arab European League (AEL).

Karim Hassoun's 'hate-resumé" is published here in Dutch and Knack is fully aware of it and even censured all posts mentioning it on their Facebook pages. Great democratic behavior.

He is the organisor of the manifestation in Antwerp on July 12th, 2014 were the crowd shouted "cut the throats of the Jews" and other "nice intentions". (Note, they probably also meant "Zionists" instead of "Jews"... Funny the way the Arab word "yahoud" gets different "translations" since some time)

Hassoun also glorified the Hezbollah child-murderer Samir Kuntar on his Facebook wall (link in the article)

In addition he, together with Abou Jahjah, whose second in command he still is, organized a fake commemoration for an antisemitic Hamas terrorist in front of the Jewish museum for deportation and resistance in Mechelen.  (Jewish museum, not "Zionist" museum...)

Commeorating Arab terrorist in front of Jewish museum, AEL site

4. Abou Jahjah - inciting teenagers to hate Jews

One of the major elements of Abou Jahjah's defence of the antisemitic selfie girl  is that she was only 18 years old when she made these antisemitic statements and needed to be educated.

Lets have a closer look to Abou Jahjah's educational qualities and values.

In 2003, the AEL forum was run by Jessica Jessie Kerkhove, a Belgian convert to Islam, who posted as follows:

"Palestine back to the Arabs.  The Jews have to get off our land.  Out of it or in it" (ie, buried in it).

This is exactly the statement Abou Jahjah uses himself: in French "la valise ou le cercueil" (the suitcase or the casket).

The moderator of the AEL forum of Abou Jahjah, Jessie was then only 16 years old.

The "education" she received from Abou Jahjah led her to write that kind of hate-text.

After some time she changed her text to:
"Palestine back to the Arabs. The Israelis must get off our land. Out of it in or it"  (with an eye-rolling smiley and a "jeez, people")

But in fact it was still the same.  She meant: "THE JEWS out or get killed"

5. Abou Jahjah's "difference" between Jews and "Zionists"

Abou Jahjah pretends that one has to make the distinction between "Jews" and "Zionists" and that he always used "Zionist".

He forgets to mention that he uses "Zionist" because Jew-hatred is illegal in Belgium and that he mainly means and thinks "Jews".

When the mayor of Antwerp, Bart De Wever, decided to call the assistance of the army after the terror attacks in Paris in order to protect the Antwerp Jewish schools, he called him "a Zionist sucker" ('zionisten-pijper') and he clearly meant Jews. (There are of course no "Zionist" schools)

He also thereby approved in his article the "correction/apologies" made by the selfie girl that she meant "Zionist" and not "Jews" in her statement about Hitler.

“Hitler didn't kill all the Jews, he left some. So we [would] know why he was killing them”

What would read then

“Hitler didn't kill all the Zionists, he left some. So we [would] know why he was killing them”

Hitler's actions happened in 1940-1945 and then that extermination would be acceptable for Abou Jahjah, approving Hitler, such as the Nazi Mufti of Jerusalem.

Interesting "logic"

In a earlier made screenshot (texts are from August 15 & 16, 2009) about "la valise ou le cercueil" and which became public some months ago, he wrote these sentences:
Jew or no jew, we will still chase them out of our land. Fatah is corrupted anyway so why is anybody surprised.   La valise ou le cerceuil.!
and then
And again, Palestine is our land and we will take it back, it doesn't matter who did what there. If you are on Palestinian ground you are an invader and the resistance should deal with you. And Palestinian ground is the whole of historical Palestine. And spare me the lamentation about being a refugee cos once again I couldn't care less. I have onlu one phrase to all the Zionists invaders in Palestine: La valise ou le cerceuil.
and (only partly on the screenshot):
Regarding Gaza, it is a concentration camp created by the Zio-Nazis and there is a total blockade against the people there because they elected Hamas as their democratic choice. So do not speak about Gaza as if Hamas made it like that. And before saying the name of a glorious resistance movement like Hamas in your mouth you better go wash it first from all the zionist dirty propaganda you are spreading.

When he states in his hate-article to be published by Knack:
... because I realize that in my situation as an example to many (sic!) and thus my responsibility to make people conscious that it is not an ethnic nor religious conflict.
It is clear from his own statements that he is the first one to make it an ethnic conflict against Jews, and not only in Israel but also against the Jews in Europe!

And he is an example: an example of an antisemite for present antisemites and antisemites to be created by him.

"Thank you" Knack, reminding Belgian and European Jews that Jew-hatred in the Flemish press is back again since the 1940's.

Belgium:Anti-racism activist blames Israel for Muslim hatred of Jews, compares Zionism to ISIS ideology

Dyab Abou Jahjah is an extremist antisemite.  He's also a minority-rights activist, a distinguished columnist in one of Belgium's top papers, and a respected partner for Belgium's anti-racism organizations.  The ones tasked with fighting antisemitism.

Belgians find it perplexing when Jews say he's antisemitic, because he only wants to kill all Jews in Israel (a sentiment he's shared quite a few times).   A decade ago he also organized pogroms in Jewish neighborhoods in Belgium, but apparently that doesn't make him an antisemite either.

Yesterday, Abou Jahjah posted a post in English on his Facebook in which he blamed Israel for Muslim and Arab antisemitism.  He then went on to compare Israel to Islamic State (also a recurring sentiment by him).  Except Israel is much worse, because most Jews support Israel, while only a fraction of Muslims support ISIS.

When young Arabs and Muslims express hatred towards Jews it is 99% of the time an echo of Israel portraying itself as the Jewish state and them believing it. This is very regrettable but it is not antisemitism. It is a lack of politisation and can only be remedied by explaining Zionism to them as a political racist movement that hijacks the identity of the Jews just like "Daesh" hijacks that of the Muslims.

With the clear difference that support for Israel and Zionism is unfortunately mainstream among jews. While support for Daesh is marginal among muslims. Not only that, Arabs and muslims are waging war against Daesh. But either way, yes young people say stupid uninformed things often out of emotionality.

I wrote about this Belgian hypocrisy in the past, but it's worth repeating.

It is not surprising that a Hezbollah activist in Belgium hates Jews.  It's not surprising that he led riots in Jewish neighborhoods in which protesters burned Jews in effigy, or that he posted Holocaust cartoons accusing Jews of making it all up, or that he supports Holocaust deniers, or that he supports the genocide of Jews in Israel.

I really don't expect much from people like Abou Jahjah.

What is surprising is that the Belgian establishment supports him, including those people whose job it is to protect Jews from antisemites.   The city of Ghent invited him to speak about racism, as did Amnesty International and the Belgian Human Rights League.   He also has a weekly column in De Standaard.

The Belgian Human Rights League got really upset at me for calling them out on their support of antisemites.  Because the people whose job it is to fight antisemitism in Belgium prefer to team up with a Hezbollah terrorist, rather than to listen to Jews who complain about it.

It really doesn't matter how many times Belgian politicians say that they are serious about fighting antisemitism.  As long as Belgian society and Belgian anti-racism organizations accept Abou Jahjah as one of their own and as an acceptable voice in society - they are sending a clear message to the  Jews in Belgium: You are on your own.

UK: Labour councillors compare Israel to Nazis, ISIS; blame ISIS on Israel

Via Sky News:
Two more Labour councillors have been suspended after posting anti-Semitic comments on Facebook - one claiming Israel was behind so-called IS.

Former Blackburn mayor Salim Mulla shared pictures suggesting that French and Japanese support for the Palestinians led to attacks by IS terrorists in retaliation.

He posted the images in August with the comment: "Is this a coincidence. You b***** daam right it is. We all know Zionism game being played.

"It's b***** obvious who is manupulating (sic) this. Those who are not sure. ISRAEL."

He also shared the same post that saw Bradford West MP Naz Shah suspended last week suggesting Israel be relocated in the US.

Mr Mulla was suspended within 30 minutes of his comments being disclosed on the Guido Fawkes website and only hours after Labour was forced to suspend Nottingham city councillor Ilyas Aziz for posts also suggesting Israel should be relocated to the US.

Mr Aziz also posted a link to an article about Nazi Germany with the comments: "A reminder of the treatment and suffering of Jews in Nazi Germany. Are there any similarities to how Israel is treating Palestinians?"

The leader of Brent Council has apologised for sharing a Facebook post which compared Israel with Islamic State.

Labour politician Muhammed Butt shared a clip which appears to show a Palestinian girl in a skirmish with an Israeli soldier, which at the bottom claimed “Israel is a terrorist state like ISIS.”

When contacted by Jewish News, Muhammed Butt, who is also the Lead for Equalities at London Councils, said: “I apologise for sharing this on social media. I do not agree with these views and as Leader of Brent Council I have championed diversity, tolerance and respect for all faith communities, and will continue to do so.”

Butt, who leads the council which has only seven non-Labour representatives, shared the post on 16 April, and has since removed it, after it was brought to the Labour Party’s attention by Jewish News.

France/UK: For journalist the Jewish people are complicit in unspeakable barbarism (Nabila Ramdani)

Via Harry's Place:

Guardian and Independent writer Nabila Ramdani was the BBC’s go-to studio expert during the Charlie Hebdo attacks, and is respected as a left-wing commentator on international affairs and community relations. She of course rejects the idea of collective responsibility:
Dark myths about sexual assaults in Cologne came into sharp focus last week when a female television journalist was attacked live on air. Esmeralda Labye, a reporter from Belgium, was covering the German city’s annual carnival when three men variously touched her breasts, kissed her and simulated intercourse behind her back.
It followed claims of multiple sex crimes on women around the city’s station on New Year’s Eve, when refugees were blamed. This allowed conspiracy theorists to outline their most starkly racist fantasies, painting a picture of demonic brown-skinned Muslims fleeing war zones to defile white European womanhood. No need for court cases: marauding savages had planned everything on the Internet and were all guilty without trial.
Except of course when it comes to the Jews!
“Le peuple juif est complice, encourage et prend part a la barbarie innomable du gvt israelien contre les palestiniens:  The Jewish people is complicit in, encourages, and takes part in the unspeakable barbarism of the Israeli government against the Palestinians.”

Also via Harry's Place:

[...] Let’s not forget Ramdani’s  brilliant analysis of Mohammed Merah’s targeted slaughter of Jewish children:
When young children are murdered by point-blank shots to the head, it is very difficult to draw conclusions about anything, let alone religion.
..
But Merah has apparently confessed to killing Muslims too: they were among the ethnic minority troops gunned down last week, with Merah claiming that he objected to their regiment fighting in Afghanistan. The truth is that extremist killers seldom differentiate between religions. Suggesting otherwise would mean turning Merah into a crude stereotype.

Belgium: European Jewish MP compares haredim to Muslim extremists

Via Artuz 7:
In a recent interview Belgian Member of Parliament Simone Susskind, herself a Jew, spoke out against the Jewish people and the Israeli government in the wake of the Brussels attacks.

Susskind harshly criticized the haredi community, claiming that they set the agenda in Israel as exemplified in issues such as the division of public transportation. "Look what they do in Israel. The women must sit in the back of the bus," she claimed.

"If there were 200 million extremist Jews that were in control, it would not look much different - their ideal world view is very similar,” Susskind said, comparing the haredim to Muslim Arabs.

UK :Labour activist claims ISIS attacks are Israeli response to Palestine recognition

Photo: The Indepdent

Via Jerusalem Post:
The UK's Labour party was again facing criticism this week over reported remarks made by a party activist who allegedly insinuated that Israel is behind the terrorist group known as Islamic State, British media reported.

According to the British Independent, Labour activist Bob Campbell accused Israel of operating ISIS in a post on Facebook a day after a pair of suicide bombings in Brussels last week.

The report published an alleged screen-shot of Campbell's Facebook post, in which he said "ISIS is run by Israel," suggesting that there was a correlation between pro-Palestinian moves in France, Japan, Indonesia and Belgium and ISIS attack.

"How many more attacks have to take place before the world fully understand that ISIS is run by Israel?" he was quoted as saying on Facebook.
