Austria: Al-Quds Day counter-protesters told that "Hitler should have killed all of you"

Via Der Standard:

Several hundred people marched this past Saturday in Vienna in support of wiping out Israel as part of Al-Quds Day.  The protesters shouted "Israel child-killers" and "Zionism is fascism".  Israel was also accused of supporting the Islamic State.

Before the protest started, a woman shouted at counter-demonstrators that they're "child-killers" and "America's dogs".  She also said "Thank you to Hitler that he killed the Jews" , a sentiment she repeated several times in various ways.  In the clip she's saying it's "a wonder that Hitler didn't kill all of you".

Germany: Company fires worker for ‘F*** You Israel’ Facebook post

Via Jerusalem Post (h/t CFCA):
The German multinational company Hasco discharged a group leader who denigrated Israel and Judaism on his Facebook page.

Christoph Ehrlich, a managing director of the firm, told The Jerusalem Post on Wednesday that the 35-year-old German Muslim trade union member was dismissed from his job in the global supplier tool and mold-making equipment company, which is located in the city of Lüdenscheid in North Rhine-Westphalia state.

“The appropriate actions were taken. The group leader is no longer a member of our company. We will in the future speak out against every form of racism or racist informed statements,” Ehrlich said.
The Post reported on the case during the first week of June and asked Hasco about its defense of the employee’s anti-Semitic statements.

The team leader crossed out a Star of David and wrote, “F*** You Israel,” on his Facebook page. The posting remained on his Facebook page for more than a year.

Denmark: Zionist activist receives death threats

Via TV2:

Jonatan Møller Sousa, a Jewish activist on Facebook and chairman of the Zionist Society, says he has received death threats.

Møller Sousa says he receives many insults and threats, but one scared him enough to turn to the police - it included his picture and phone-number and said "these are Zionist bitches" and then continued "I know what I must do, oh brothers and sisters in Allah".

Turkey: Jews Say Rising anti-Semitism Will Drive Next Generation Away

Via Haaretz:
The synagogue’s fate tells the story of Turkey’s dwindling Jewish community, which is dealing with rising displays of anti-Semitism and profound fears for its future.

“We’re not afraid of Islamic State and Kurdish terror – that’s directed against all Turks,” says another community member, who also wished to remain anonymous. “The problem is with our neighbors and the neighbors’ children we grew up with. Today, they are fed with wild incitement and treat us and our children with hatred and anti-Semitism. Our problem is at school, nightclubs, the supermarket.”

The synagogue is located in the heart of the city’s old Galata neighborhood, where Jews settled on first reaching Istanbul. Many of the Jews who were expelled from Spain in 1492 settled in the Ottoman Empire and until World War I the Jewish-Turkish community numbered some 150,000.

After the Great War it lost half of its population to Israel, Europe and the United States, and has been in constant decline ever since. By the time Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s Justice and Development Party rose to power in 2005, the community numbered 19,500. It fell to 17,000 over the following decade and has fallen by a further 1,000 in the past year.

The people I spoke to in Istanbul hold the Turkish leadership responsible, for ignoring the rampant incitement against Jews in Turkey and enabling it, even if President Erdogan himself didn’t make any public anti-Semitic statements.

(...)

The reconciliation agreement signed last week between Israel and Turkey has failed to lessen his fears. “The agreement is not between myself and my neighbor, or between my child and a gang of youngsters who attack him in a nightclub or at school,” he says.

“It was always unacceptable to look like a Jew in Turkey, but we looked the other way because we made a good living,” he says. “A Jew in Turkey never wears a kippa – except for the chief rabbi, because the job obliges him to. In the past, we did it out of the understanding that we live in a Muslim state and there’s no need to create an uncomfortable situation. Today, it’s from the fear of being attacked.

“A Jew can’t be a career officer in the Turkish army, no matter how many generations he’s lived in Turkey or how loyal he is to the state,” he adds. “A Jew can’t send his son to the military academy, or serve in intelligence or other sensitive posts.”

Russia: Chabad leader slams state-funded TV for ‘blood libel’

Via Times of Israel:
A Chabad-Lubavitch leader condemned a state-funded channel’s airing of Palestinian allegations that an Israeli rabbi approved the poisoning of Palestinian wells.

Rabbi Alexander Boroda, president of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Russia, said the RT network’s June 27 report on the issue repeated unfounded allegations reminiscent of the medieval “blood libel” against Jews.

The RT report referred to recent reports in Arab and Muslim media which claimed that a West Bank rabbi issued an “advisory opinion” allowing Jewish settlers to poison Palestinian water. A version of the story previously appeared in the state-run Turkish press agency Anadolu, credited to a Palestinian reporter in Ramallah. Neither the rabbi in the story nor the organization he is described as representing appears to exist.

The report came a week after Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas repeated the unfounded allegations at the European Parliament. Abbas later acknowledged that the charges were “baseless.”

In medieval Europe, Jews were often accused of poisoning wells to spread disease among Christians. This recurrent theme led to several major pogroms against Jews.

“It is surprising that the modern Russian television channel produces similar plots,” Boroda was quoted as saying in a statement Friday on the news site Jewish.Ru. These blood libels, he added, “were the product of a sick imagination” and led to brutal violence.

“In this case we are talking a falsification which has already been refuted,” added Boroda, who also noted Abbas’ office had apologized for his remarks. The report on RT, Boroda said, “is not an unfortunate exception, but rather the rule.” The channel, he said, “regularly features stories about the alleged persecution of Arabs by Jews – attacks and house demolitions without reporting these are the houses of terrorists who kill civilians.”

Poland: "Poles didn’t do this, it was provocation by the Communists"

Via Times of Israel:
At least 42 Jews were killed and over 40 injured in the worst anti-Semitic attack in postwar Poland, according to the Washington-based United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.

The pogrom went down as one of the darkest moments in the thousand-year-long history of Polish Jews.

(...)
Nine people were sentenced to death for their role in the killings, but the Communist authorities of the time tried to blame regime opponents for the crime.

(...)
Years later, the massacre is still a favorite of conspiracy theorists, with the far right refusing to accept that Poles were responsible.

“I would remove this, it’s a lie,” a man in his forties tells Bialek, pointing at a plaque commemorating “anti-Semitic unrest” on the white facade of the building at 7/9 Planty Street.

Poles didn’t do this, it was provocation by the Communists to show that Poles are anti-Semitic,” he said.

UK Antisemitism Watchdog: Labour Inquiry ‘Vague, Meaningless Whitewash’ of Party’s Racism

Via Algemeiner:
The results of the UK Labour Party’s investigation into allegations of antisemitism in the party are a “vague, meaningless whitewash” of racism, a leading watchdog said on Thursday.

Jonathan Sacerdoti, director of communications at the Campaign Against Antisemitism, a UK charity which works to expose antisemitism, said in a statement that the Labour inquiry — the results of which were announced Thursday in a special conference — glossed over cases of antisemitism within Labour and has failed to take the party’s leadership to task.

The Labour inquiry — headed by the controversial Shami Chakrabarti — concluded that while there is an “occasionally toxic atmosphere” within the party, it is “not overrun by antisemitism, Islamophobia, or other forms of racism.” The investigation made 20 recommendations, but did not approve lifetime bans for party members who engage in antisemitic or racist behavior.

According to Sacerdoti, “The Chakrabarti Inquiry presented what it set out to present: a narrow set of recommendations on how the Labour Party should change its rules on racism. It did not examine the disgraceful cases of antisemitism in the party, or their even more disgraceful mishandling by party leadership, including [Labour head] Jeremy Corbyn, who presides over a regime of the lightest slaps on wrists for even the most offensive and deliberate antisemites.”

Instead of recommending suspensions for antisemitic Labour members, “inexcusably, the Inquiry proposes making it harder to suspend antisemites and keeping suspensions secret so as not to affect elections,” Sacerdoti said.

UK: Labour activists respond to antisemitic accusations with Holocaust mockery, antisemitic conspiracy theories

Yesterday the Labour Party presented the results of its inquiry into antisemitism within the party’s ranks.  Among the recommendations:  "Labour members should resist the use of Hitler, Nazi and Holocaust metaphors, distortions and comparisons in debates about the Israel-Palestine in particular."

Apparently, that's a tall order.

Yair Rosenberg wrote:
Jeremy Corbyn's far-left anti-Semitic trolls are the mirror image of Donald Trump's far-right anti-Semitic ones. It's uncanny.

I've been getting as much anti-Semitic abuse of late from Corbyn backers as from Trump backers, but at least the Trumpkins have fun memes.

Here's a few comments on the Independent article Labour antisemitism report tells members to stop using ‘Hitler, Nazi and Holocaust metaphors’.  Labour supporters responded by  comparing Zionists to Nazis and claiming there's a (Zionist) media conspiracy to discredit Corbyn.

UK: Jewish Labour MP harangued as party’s anti-Semitism report unveiled

Via Times of Israel:
A Jewish member of parliament for Labour on Thursday morning stormed out of a London event at which the party unveiled the findings of its anti-Semitism inquiry, after a supporter of leader Jeremy Corbyn accused her of controlling the media.

“This morning, at the launch of the Chakrabarti Inquiry into antisemitism, I was verbally attacked by a Momentum activist and Jeremy Corbyn supporter who used traditional antisemitic slurs to attack me for being part of a ‘media conspiracy,'” Ruth Smeeth wrote in a statement on her website after the incident. (Momentum is a left-wing pro-Corbyn Labour group.)

“It is beyond belief that someone could come to the launch of a report on antisemitism in the Labour Party and espouse such vile conspiracy theories about Jewish people, which were ironically highlighted as such in Ms Chakrabarti’s report, while the leader of my own party stood by and did absolutely nothing,” she said.

“Until today I had made no public comment about Jeremy’s ability to lead our party, but the fact that he failed to intervene is final proof for me that he is unfit to lead, and that a Labour Party under his stewardship cannot be a safe space for British Jews,” she continued.

UK: Nazi group crowns "Miss Hitler 2016"

Via Mirror:
A British woman has been crowned Miss Hitler 2016 after taking party in a sick neo- Nazi beauty pageant organised by fascist group, National Action.
The competition attracted entries from across the UK, but saw one women, with the disturbing pseudonym 'A-Bus-Full-Of-Retards', named winner.

In an interview on the group's website, the woman discusses her antisemitic views and described how she became involved with National Action (NA).

She says: "I am an NA activist living in Scotland and dedicated member of our organisation."

The brunette woman poses in pictures on the fascist group's website wearing a kilt and a t-shirt displaying the National Action emblam.

Her face is half-covered with a black scarf with a skull on it, and in several images she is doing the Nazi salute.

In other parts of the interview she adds: "I didn't want to believe that the Jews are the enemy as I was brought up to believe that they are very similar to Christians.

"Eventually the Jewish propaganda became too obvious to ignore and so I became involved with NA."

Sweden: Palestinian Imam celebrated by Church of Sweden: "The Jews are behind the Islamic State!"

@ The Gatestone Institute:
  • "There are reliable sources from Egypt, showing that the Saudi royal family is really a Jewish family that came from Iraq to the Arabian Peninsula sometime in the 1700s. They built an army with the aid of British officers fighting the Ottoman sultanate." — Imam Awad Olwan, with whom a priest, Henrik Larsson, is cooperating in an interfaith project.
The Church of Sweden has departed from being a strong and stern state church. In the past, Swedes were born into it and, until 1951, no one was allowed to leave the church. These days, however, it is an institution that has very little to do with Christianity or Jesus. Sweden now, according to the World Values Survey, is one of the world's most secular countries; every year a large number of Swedes leave the church.  [...]

Gatestone called Henrik Larsson, a priest and one of the founders of the House of God project.  [...]

Henrik Larsson celebrates the imam with whom he is cooperating in the "House of God." His name is Awad Olwan, a Palestinian who came to Sweden in the 1960s. According to Henrik Larsson, Olwan is a modern Muslim, who became an imam late in life and likes democracy.

But when Gatestone called Olwan, to ask why he supported the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) in the 1970s and refused to denounce the Munich massacre at the 1972 Olympic Games, he at first pretended not to know what the PFLP was. The BBC has described it as "Combining Arab nationalism with Marxist-Leninist ideology, the PFLP saw the destruction of Israel as integral to its struggle to remove Western capitalism from the Middle East."
Olwan: "Oh, well, yes, we had a lot of different organizations back then, but forget that -- that is history now. It meant Palestine Liberation something. I really do not remember to be quite honest."
Gatestone: You refused to denounce the attack on the Jewish Olympians in Munich?
Olwan: "Yes, that's right, but that was in the 70s! I don't remember what I said then."
Gatestone: Is your attitude different now?
Olwan: "Yes, of course. It was murder and nothing else."
During our first conversation, Awad Olwan claimed to be very positive towards Jews. He said that there are no Jews in the House of God is simply because there is no Jewish congregation in Fisksätra, but that the organizers have invited a Jewish choir and are cooperating very well with them.

During our second talk, however, other thoughts emerged. When Olwan was asked some questions about the Quran and the hadith, he began cursing and saying that everything was the fault of "those f**king Mecca-Arabs."
Gatestone: Are you saying Islam is not the problem; that it is the Saudi interpretation of Islam that messes everything up?
Olwan: "Exactly! And their religion [Wahhabism] was invented by a British imperialist 200 years ago. I cannot say anything more, because then I am an anti-Semite and whatnot."
Gatestone: What is the truth about the Jews?
Olwan: "Okay, there are reliable sources from Egypt, showing that the Saudi royal family is really a Jewish family that came from Iraq to the Arabian Peninsula sometime in the 1700s. They built an army with the aid of British officers fighting the Ottoman sultanate. After that, they created the Jordanian army and so on and so on."
Gatestone: Are you saying this is the reason the Jews are so quiet?
Olwan: "Yes. I wrote in my book that the purpose of ISIS/Daesh is to shift the focus from the Arab-Israeli conflict, and make this a conflict between Sunni and Shia -- and they have succeeded. And now, they will erase the entire Middle East. You will see! It is Catholic land, Muslim land and a lot of other crap countries just to justify the existence of a Jewish state."
Gatestone: I read online that many believe it was Mossad and the Jews who started ISIS?
Olwan: "Yes, that is a common theory in the Middle East, but if you say that in the West, you are told that you are a conspiracy nut and that you have no evidence. But here's the deal: You cannot wage war against strong forces without having weapons delivered every day, you need planning and logistics. These are not f**king terrorists who have learned how to wage war on the internet, these are highly trained, highly skilled people. I have to go now."
Gatestone: Are you referring to the Jews?
Olwan: "Exactly, exactly."
Olwan is most likely a typical example of an imam who shows a conciliatory and friendly attitude towards naïve Swedish priests, but with a bit of encouragement, admits his hatred of Jews.
