The town of Huningue in Alsace, on the Swiss-German border, was hit with antisemitic graffiti in six different places. Slogans included: "Jews out" (in German), Jewish stars and various symbols of the Waffen SS. A local Jew turned to the police after his car was hit by similar graffiti.
Police say the timing is not a coincidence, as May 8 is V Day, which marks the victory over the Nazis in Europe. On Hitler's 125th birthday, neo-Nazis had
organized a celebration in the nearby village of Oltingue.
