France: Hundreds of gravestones vandalised at Jewish cemetery
Lifted from the the Lower-Rhine Jewish Community website
JSS News reports that the French Minister of Interior Bernard Caseneuve announced today that hundreds of gravestones were vandalised at
the 18th-century cemetery at Sarre-Union. He strongly condemned the desecraton calling it a most "odious act".
The Bas-Rhin Jewish community is one of the oldest in France. Sadly, Jewish cemeteries in the region are among those that are most frequently targeted by vandals.
