Via BILD, h/t Honestly Concerned:
The Schauspiel Frankfurt theater announced this year's theme as "Survival" - a tribute the victims of Nazi terror. The theater's newsletter contained various contributions on this theme.
One is from Redouan Abdellaoui, titled "Not Muslims, Jews or others. Just people". Abdellaoui writes that while in the past Anne had to live under a hostile regime, today the children of Palestine find no place for joy, fun and love. The world stands powerless as genocide begins there.
When questioned about this, the theater said that the author meant to talk of suffering, not to make historical comparisons, but that they maybe should have gone with clearer wording.
