Hungary: Holocaust memorial vandalized in Nyíregyháza

A Holocaust memorial in Nyíregyháza, North-east Hungary, has been vandalised, local police said.

The memorial in the city’s Dob Street park was reported to have been toppled onto the ground, a Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County police spokesperson said in a statement. An investigation is under way. The marble creation was placed in the public space marking the local Jewish ghetto in 2004 to commemorate the fallen martyrs of the city.
