France: "After 1830, Rothschild came to power" writes Le Figaro

Lifted from yesterday's edition of the Figaro Litterary Supplement, this comment by Jacques de Saint Victor in his review of a biography of King Charles X:

"Cette époque paraît la dernière où la finance parisienne ne domina pas la politique.  Après 1830, Rothschild arrive au pouvoir."

Translation:

"This period [Charles X's reign 1824-1830] seems to be the last in which the Parisian finance does not dominated politics. After 1830, Rothschild came to power."

Le Figaro is a quality and highly regarded centre-right daily.
