Germany: Head of parliament lectures Jews about what they should consider antisemitism

Via Jerusalem Post:
Bundestag President Norbert Lammert criticized Israel's government on Tuesday at the Conference of European Rabbis in Berlin.

Lammert voiced his criticism when asked whether he thought the BDS (Boycott Divest Sanction) movement was a disguise for anti-Semitism.

"From time to time there are disguised political statements, but to be frank, there is a similar temptation on the part of the Israeli government that receives all criticism against it as anti-Semitism," he said.

The problem is that Lammert is not capable of making that distinction himself.  The BDS movement does not 'criticize Israel'.  It does not make 'disguised political statements'.  It wants to abolish Israel as a Jewish state.  That is very clear antisemitism.

But even if BDS was really just about a boycott.  79% of German Jews think boycotting Israeli goods is  antisemitic.

So, in fact, Lammert is telling German Jews that they don't know what antisemitism is.

Maybe it's time for German politicians to stop lecturing Jews about antisemitism and listen to what really bothers them.
