Via Jerusalem Post:
A municipality-funded adult education center in the city of Ulm, the birthplace of Albert Einstein, is slated to host on Wednesday a speaker accused of stoking modern day anti-Semitism and hatred of Israel across Germany.
“We call for the end of this Israeli criticism disguised as a latent anti-Semitic position,“ wrote the German-Israel friendship society of Ulm/Neu-Ulm on Thursday.
“The Ulm adult educational center event, which is taking place in cooperation with the House of Encounter, is part of a series of anti-Israel events, leading to the delegitimization of the Jewish state and its right to self-defense,” said the pro-Israel group.
The German-Israel society [DIG] Ulm/Neu-Ulm launched its protest against the event at the Einstein House Academic Center. The planned talk from the BDS activist Arn Strohmeyer prompted criticism because the city subsidizes the academic center and has steadfastly ignored citizen complaints about harsh anti-Israel events at the academic center.
The DIG said, “Strohmeyer is known for his anti-Zionist position. He speaks, among other things, of a ‘colonial settler state (Israel)’ that strives to completely replace the indigenous population through an immigrant population.”
