Shami Chakrabarti – who has been appointed by Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn – was accused of 'lacking credibility' after it emerged that she had once described Moazzam Begg as a 'wonderful advocate… for human rights and in particular for human liberty'. Mr Begg, who was imprisoned in Guantanamo after travelling to Afghanistan to build schools for children of Al Qaeda fighters, recently caused a storm on Twitter by declaring: 'Israel's crimes far outweigh Taliban's who are in their own country. Zionist Israelis aren't.'
