Belgium: Antisemitic taunts against Jewish football team

Via CFCA:

In a match between Maccabi Brussels and FC Anderlecht-Milan, one of the Jewish teens suffered antisemitic abuse from the opposing team members.  Taunts such as "what's with all these dirty Jews" and "dirty Jew, I'll wait for you outside".

UK: Jewish team walks off pitch over anti-Semitic abuse

Manchester Maccabi under-16 manager Anthony Dennison was forced to take his players off the pitch after he alleged they received anti-Semitic abuse during a match on Sunday.

Mr Dennison said that one of his players was verbally abused throughout the Tameside League match against Curzon Ashton with such comments as “Jewish p***k”, forcing the game to be abandoned.

He added that an opposing player said: “They’ve got no foreskins”, while a parent shouted that Maccabi “didn’t care about what happens to the Palestinians”.

France: Jewish community 'shocked' by vote of city of Lille to freeze twinning with Israeli city

Martine Aubry
CRIF, the umbrella group of French Jewish organizations said the Jewish community of France was “shocked’’ by the vote of the city of Lille to “temporary freeze” a twinning with the Israeli city of Safed. [...]

Roger Cukierman, president of CRIF, wrote a letter to Aubry in which he described the city’s move as  “shocking’’ to the Jewish community of France.  “This decision is tatamount to a heinous attitude towards the Israeli people because neither the twin city nor the Israeli people are responsible for the Israeli government’s policy’’, he wrote.

Portugal: Scholar calls for the 'extinction' of Israel

Boaventura de Sousa Santos, professor of sociology at the University of Coimbra and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he teaches a seminar at the Law School on Globalization, Law and Democracy during the Fall semester, urges in a Brazilian site:
"ordinary citizens around the world to rise up and file a class action with all universal jurisdictions against the State of Israel with the aim of declaring its extinction as a Jewish State, not only because throughout its existence it has repeatedly committed crimes against humanity, but foremost because its own creation, as a Jewish State, constitutes a crime against humanity".

He opines that because the very existence of Israel is a crime against humanity and as such does not have statutes of limitations.  The extermination of Israel would restore general dignity for Jews and Palestinians and the world in general whose dignity "was stolen through one of the most violent acts of European colonialism in the twentieth century, supported by American imperialism and poor European awareness since the end of World War II".

UK: Church of England vicar defends attendance at "anti-Zionist" Iranian conference

Jewish leaders have accused an Anglican Vicar from Surrey of supporting an “anti-Semitic hate-fest” by speaking at a conference in Iran at which claims of “Zionist” involvement in 9/11 were aired.

The Board of Deputies of British Jews is demanding an investigation by the Church of England into why Rev Dr Stephen Sizer, of Virginia Water, Surrey, attended the event in Tehran at which a video of the anti-Jewish French comedian Dieudonne M’bala M’bala was also shown.

But Dr Sizer, who is a prominent campaigner against Israeli policy in Palestine, insisted that even though he strongly disagreed with many of the things others said, he was there as an “ambassador for reconciliation”.

He repudiated claims that the Second “New Horizon” festival in Tehran in September was anti-Semitic, although strong anti-Zionist views were expressed, and said he was there to present a Christian point of view.

The conference programme includes details of discussion on themes such as “Zionist Fingerprints on the 9/11 Cover-up” and other conspiracy theories about Israel.

UK: UKIP MEP apologises over retweet to ‘vile’ anti-Semitic blog

A UKIP MEP apologised last night for retweeting a link to a virulently anti-Semitic blog after her party had initially mounted an extraordinary defence of the politician.
Jane Collins, who was elected this year to represent Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire, posted a link to a page of an extremist blog attacking Labour’s deputy leader Harriett Harman over allegations an organisation she once worked for had links to paedophile rights campaigners. The opening sentence referred to the politician as a “Jewess” – which she is not.

Belgium: pro-Hamas anti-Israel Koweiti preacher to speak at Muslim Fair in Brussels

Capitale reports that Koweit preacher Tareq Al-Suwaidan  is scheduled to speak at the third Muslim Fair organised by the League of Muslim Leaders to be held in Brussels in November. It is estimated that there are a million Muslims in Belgium.

Wikipedia has this on him:
"In May 2007, Al-Suwaidan was listed by U.S. federal prosecutors, along with a group of U.S. Muslim Brotherhood members, as an unindicted co-conspirator in the terrorism financing case against the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development which was convicted along with its leaders of financing Hamas. A Federal court subsequently ruled that the list of unindicted co-conspirators should not have been released to the public.
In an April 2012 interview for Al-Quds, a TV station affiliated with Hamas, he claimed that since politicians were controlled by money and the media which are controlled by the Jews, only "armed resistance" and not Western aid or Western popular sympathy could change the situation in Palestine and Jerusalem. He also said in the interview that the most dangerous thing facing Muslims is the Jews calling them "the greatest enemy."  Al-Suwaidan subsequently denied charges of anti-semitism stating "We are not against the Jews, let this be very clear." He alleged that the comments were based on a report by MEMRI which he called a "Zionist organization."
In a sermon to Hamas which was later posted on the internet on July 14, 2014 (as translated by MEMRI), Al-Suwaidan described Israel as "a deviant country...[that] is destined to be eradicated in its entirety," explaining that "We do not demand a ceasefire. Rather, we demand that the rockets continue to be launched until they bow before us." Al-Suwaidan further stated that:
"All the mothers of the Islamic nation – not only Palestinian mothers – should suckle their babies on the hatred of the sons of Zion. We hate them. They are our enemies. We should instill this in the souls of our children, until a new generation arises and wipes them off the face of the earth...Each and every one of us, when leaving this hall, should be contemplating a plan how to wipe out Israel.""

Sweden: Anger grows over Swedish government funding for anti-Zionist groups amid diplomatic row

An antisemitic cartoon published  by Badil, a
Palestinian NGO that receives taxpayer funds
from the Swedish government.  Image: Badil
Professor Gerald Steinberg, the president of NGO Monitor, told The Algemeiner that the Swedish intention to recognize a Palestinian state was “grandstanding” and “hypocritical.”

“For years, governments in Stockholm have irresponsibly and immorally channeled tax revenues to some of the most anti-peace organizations and activities,” Steinberg said.

Steinberg was particularly critical of Diakonia which, he said, provides funding for pro-BDS Palestinian groups like Badil and Sabeel, which “reject the existence of a Jewish state and engage in antisemitic activities.” Steinberg pointed to a cartoon on the Badil wesbite which shows a visibly orthodox Jew holding a pitchfork drenched in blood and standing on top of a large stone weighing down a female Palestinian refugee and her dead child. “If the Swedish Prime Minister is actually interested in peace, which requires an end to incitement, the first step would be halt this anti-peace NGO funding,” Steinberg said.

Sweden has frequently been accused of not doing enough to combat antisemitism at home while funding radical anti-Israel activism abroad. Earlier today, The Algemeiner reported that Adrian Kaba, who represents Lofven’s Social Democratic Party of Sweden on the Malmö City Council and the regional government, accused “the Israeli Mossad” of “training” the Islamic State terrorist group in a Facebook post in July.

Finland: Convicted anti-Semite recipient of local media town medal for achievement

Tundra Tabloids: Juha Kärkkäinen was found guilty of spreading hatred for Jews in his store newsletter and on his online website. Regardless of where you fall on the free speech rights issue, this incident shouldn’t leave you with too much to mull over, the city shouldn’t have recognized this anti-Semite for anything. He lost his respectability once he took to demonizing Jews.

NOTE: Actress Minttu Mustakallio was the only one who condemned the awarding of the medal to Kärkkäinen. (according to tabloid paper, Ilta-Sanomat)

Background: Simon Wiesenthal Center Condemns Finland’s Juha Kärkkäinen, Tycoon Publisher of Antisemitic Free Newspapers as a ‘National Danger’ and Kärkkäinen convicted over anti-semitic rants

Belgium: Isabelle Praile denounces "the Israel lobby in Belgium" at Tehran conference

As the ADL reports Iran New Horizon Conference Draws U.S. Anti-Semites, Holocaust Deniers: "Anti-Semites and radical anti-Zionists from the United States and Europe have converged on Tehran for the so-called “New Horizon Conference” – a three-day jamboree dedicated to libelous conspiracy theories about the influence of the “Zionist Lobby.”

All attendees are pretty marginal and well known for what they are: Israel-haters, conspiracy theorists, 9/11 truthers, nutjobs and Holocaust deniers. The only exception being Isabelle Praile the attendee from Belgium who is a convert to Shiism and a high-ranking member of the Council of Muslims in Belgium.  She is a frequent guest in the media, as her biography on the conference blog indicates (more here, here and here):

"Since 2014 Membre of the General Assembly of the Executif Muslim of Belgium intervener in Belgian media on issues related to Muslims

2008-2014 Vice-chairman of the Executif Muslim of Belgium

2005-2014 Membre of the General Assembly of the Executif Muslim of Belgium [...]".

Typically Isabelle Praile's presentation was about "the Israeli lobby in Belgium"... Well, at a conference "aimed at exposing Zionist control of– well, just about everything", what could she be expected to talk about?

Germany: Politician posts video of 'Rothschilds controlling the world'

The sad fact is that when I saw this story, I thought I already posted it - there are too many similar such stories in Germany recently.

The working circle of Jewish Social Democrats blasted on Wednesday a German social democratic politician for posting a crude anti-Semitic conspiracy video about the Rothschild family on her Facebook page.

“This morning we became aware that the SPD regional politician Sabine Wölfle posted an anti-Semitic and conspiratorial video on her Facebook page. We are shocked that a regional politician lacks basic knowledge about the connotations of conspiracy theories, in which the frequently mentioned, all-encompassing, financial power of the Rothschild family stands at the center. We demand a clear apology for the spreading of anti-Semitic propaganda.”

(...)

The alleged anti-Semitic video posted by Wölfle is titled “The Power of the Rothschilds.” The video, which was viewed by The Jerusalem Post, claims the family dominates the financial capital London and “control the media.” The narrator says the Rothschilds are responsible for the “mass murders of millions.”
