Germany: Holocaust memorial stones vandalized

In Bautzen (eastern Germany), Four stumbling stones were spray-painted with paint.  The stones are memorials to Jewish Holocaust victims.  The perpetrators also spray-painted graffiti on several houses.

Ukraine: Jews form self-defense group

 
 Ukrainian Jews with combat skills formed a rapid intervention force to stop anti-Semitic attacks. 

The force, which was set up in recent weeks, currently is made up of eight men who served in the Ukrainian or Israeli armies or have martial arts skills, the team’s founder, Tzvi Arieli, told JTA Thursday.

Germany: PETA compares slaughtered pigs to Holocaust victims

PETA Germany came out with a new poster comparing the slaughter of pigs to the Holocaust.  While they're at it, they also compare it to slavery and racism. The poster quotes Dr. Martin Luther King: "Never forget that everything Hitler did in Germany was legal".

Ireland: Fianna Fáil canvasser insults Jewish woman

A Fianna Fáil local election candidate in south Dublin has described as “entirely inappropriate” and “repugnant to me” comments made to a young Jewish woman by one of his canvassers last night.

In a statement late last night the chairman of the Jewish Representative Council of Ireland Maurice Cohen explained how, during a canvass earlier in the night, “a young mother and member of the Jewish community in Dublin” was subjected “to what can only be described as anti-Semitic remarks. 

“The FF canvasser acting in support of outgoing councillor John Lahart upon being informed that the young woman would not be voting Fianna Fáil queried ‘You’re hardly voting FG? The problem is that Alan Shatter is a Jew and as a Jew he looks down on the rest of us Gentiles..... Oh maybe you’re a jewess?’ Whereupon he followed with ‘Well it’s a good profession to be in’.”

Russia: Journalist accuses Crimea of committing 'Zionist crimes'

Mustafa Jemilev, the elder statesman of the Crimean Tatar community, was banned from Russia and his homeland of Crimea.

Russian journalist Maxim Shevchenko used the opportunity to write a long antisemitic screed on his blog on the Echo of Russia radio website.  Shevchenko says that Armenia and Israel (the anti-Turkish front) are involved in what's happening in Crimea and have an interest in ruining the Turkish-Russian relationship.

Shevchenko, who recently said that the Palestinians are waging Jihad against World Evil, then goes on to accuse the Crimean authorities of using Zionist repressive policies.  Palestinians are barred from their homeland while natives of Soviet and European cities (ie, the Jews), who came there using military force, call Palestine their 'historical homeland', and even deny the real owners the right to call it by its real name of "Palestine".

I'm not going to repeat it all, but Shevchenko accuses Israelis of Islamophobia, racism, apartheid and killing Palestinians with impunity.

Hungary: Dozens of tombstones vandalized in Jewish cemetery

Via CFCA: Fifty graves were vandalized in the old Jewish cemetery in Szikszó (northern Hungary).  Tombstones were pulled down and smashed.

France: "Jews out" graffiti on V Day

The town of Huningue in Alsace, on the Swiss-German border, was hit with antisemitic graffiti in six different places. Slogans included: "Jews out" (in German), Jewish stars and various symbols of the Waffen SS.  A local Jew turned to the police after his car was hit by similar graffiti.

Police say the timing is not a coincidence, as May 8 is V Day, which marks the victory over the Nazis in Europe.  On Hitler's 125th birthday, neo-Nazis had organized a celebration in the nearby village of Oltingue.

UK: Jewish MP gets constant death threats, described as "enemy of Islam"

Conservative MP Lee Scott told an all-party inquiry on ending discrimination in political campaigns that he's been targeted by antisemitic abuse and death threats since the 2010 general elections.

During the debate, Mr Scott said he had endured anti-Semitic abuse and death threats since the 2010 general election.

Leaflets had been circulated in his constituency of Ilford North describing him as an "enemy of Islam", he added. 

Mr Scott said: "At the 2010 general election, I remember it very clearly, on a Friday, I was walking back to my car when two gentlemen - I use the word very loosely - approached me, called me a dirty Jew, and said they were going to kill me.

Mr Scott continued: "That was some four years ago, so you'd have thought that it would all have died down. 

"But sadly it hasn't. I still regularly get emails saying I should be stoned to death, I'm not quite sure why, but nonetheless I get them. 

"Also, after speaking in January at the Holocaust memorial debate that we had in the chamber, I received a letter calling me a 'dirty Jew' and saying again I should be killed for speaking up against people killing Jews.

Turkey: Judge posts against Israeli-Zionist-neocons out to get Erdogan

On Thursday, several news portals published a number of Facebook posts by the judge, Ibrahim Sagir, in which he expressed his close affinity to the prime minister. 

On March 28, the judge wrote, “We love you R.T. Erdogan because those who don't love you don't love this nation either. Because Zionist Israel and its collaborators don't love you. Because all oppressed people and Muslims in the world love you. Because you are of this nation. May God protect you and help you succeed. For all of our sakes. Amen.” 

In another post on the social media platform on March 30, the judge celebrated the victory of Erdogan's Justice and Development Party (AK Party) in the local elections. “Yes friends, the real winner is the great Turkish nation. And the loser is Israel, the neocons and their collaborators here [in Turkey].” In the municipal elections of March 30, the AK Party won a clear victory, garnering 43 percent of the vote.

Israel: Tomb of ancient rabbi vandalized

The tomb of an ancient rabbi was vandalized in the Galilee on Tuesday, in what is being investigated as a possible reprisal price-tag attack in the wake of a series of nationalist crimes targeting the Arab sector in recent weeks. 

The graffiti sprayed on the tomb of Rabbi Halafta near Karmiel included a swastika and the Hebrew words “price tags will pay a price.”

Sweden: Girl tells of antisemitic harassment online

Gabriela (18) from Gothenburg tells she is constantly bullied by classmates via social media. A proud Jew who wears a Star-of-David necklace and has a Hebrew tattoo, she says that many of the bullies turn to antisemitism.   Some comments she got include: "Go gas yourselves, you Jew bastards .. It's a shame Hitler missed a family", "You f**king Jews should wear a white ribbon with a star on your arm and be on your way to Auschwitz .. People like you belong in Poland as ash".

Israel: Synagogues vandalized

Two synagogues in the Bet-Shemesh area were desecrated recently.  Last Tuesday a synagogue in Bet-Shemesh was attacked: the perpetrators threw the Torah scrolls and religious objects on the floor.  They also stole expensive religious artifacts.  A nearby synagogue was also attacked:  a Torah scroll was stolen and later found thrown in the nearby forest.

Today a synagogue in Zecharia was attacked: the place was trashed, religious books vandalized and the metal cases of five Torah scrolls stolen.
