Day 60: Counting the Days till EU Condemns PA Incitement to Kill Jews
Following the murders in Jerusalem enabled by the constant Palestinian incitement to kill Jews, this blog will wait until one European country will step forward and condemn the PA for its incitement.
It is not enough to ask the PA to stop inciting.
It is not enough to condemn the terror attacks caused by such incitement.
European leaders must make it clear to the PA that incitement to kill Jews is unacceptable. That such incitement will mean no support for Palestinian aspirations for statehood.
Until then, European leaders are encouraging Palestinians to kill Jews.

UK: Third of Britons would consider special ID for Jews and their businesses
Almost 60% of respondents did not know that six million Jews were killed in the Holocaust.
Around 15% of those surveyed agreed with statements that the government should consider introducing laws which require Jews to carry an ID that states their religion on it, while a further fifth of respondents answered unequivocally that they “don’t know”, and should consider introducing laws requiring businesses owned by Jews to have some form of special identification. 21% felt the government should consider introducing laws requiring businesses owned by Muslims to have some form of special identification.

Germany: "If Stolpersteine started to be desecrated..."
Started? The 'stumbling blocks' Holocaust memorials are vandalized so often, that I don't usually even report it. Consider yourself informed that Germany has an anti-Semitism issue.
Vandalism of Holocaust memorials in Germany (and Europe) are not a theoretical idea. They're reality. The memorials put up to remember those Jews murdered in cold blood for the crime of being Jews, are vandalized over and over again. Welcome to Europe 2105.
Via Artuz 7:
Swartzberg claimed that after deadly attacks on Jews in Paris and Brussels and the troubling rise of a right-wing populist group in the eastern German city of Dresden, the Stolpersteine could serve as a "lightning rod" of anti-Semitism.
"In other words, if Stolpersteine started to be desecrated by neo-Nazis or Muslims we would know that Germany is facing an anti-Semitism issue," he said.
UK: BBC journalist says attacks against Jews are 'other side' of Israeli actions
The same media which claims that accusing Israel of genocide and ethnic cleansing does not mean they accuse all Jews of such, then turn around and explain that Jews are attacked because of evil Israel.
Am I the only one who isn't getting it?
One of the items appearing in the January 19th edition of the BBC Radio 2 Jeremy Vine show (available for a limited period of time from 36:57 here) was built around discussion of the following irrelevant – and frankly crass – question put by the host in his introduction.
(...)
Angela Epstein’s answer to that question includes the following statement:
“We are targets of Muslim terror because we are Jews and the same does not happen the other way round even in the face of heinous provocation…”
Vine quickly jumps in:
“You say it doesn’t happen the other way round – there will be people who say wait; when you look at the State of Israel and what it does in the occupied territories, that’s the…that’s the other side of the argument.”

France: Police foiled terrorist plot on anti-Semitism event
Suspected jihadists arrested last year in Lyon were planning to carry out a terrorist attack at a Jewish group’s conference on anti-Semitism.
The five suspects who were arrested in a series of sweeps by French police from Sept. 16 to Sept. 18 were planning to strike on Sept. 18 at an event organized in Lyon by the regional branch of the CRIF umbrella of French Jewish communities and organizations, according to a report Tuesday in the Le Progres daily.
An unnamed police officer who was in charge of the investigation confirmed to Le Progres that the suspects were arrested following the interception of a Sept. 5 telephone conversation in which they discussed their plans. Among the five arrested are Karim and Reda Bekhaled, brothers who are believed to have been involved in recruiting radical Muslims to fight in Syria, along with the remaining three suspects. Reda Bekhaled was heard discussing the plans in the recorded conversation. The police officer said the brothers “had the ambition of dying as martyrs” and “planned to carry out imminently an act of violence.”

Opinion: I acknowledge my Jewish privilege
Maital Friedman wrote that in honor of Martin Luther King Day, we Jews must acknowledge our Jewish privilege. I think she's right.
So here we go:
1. I acknowledge my privilege to be hated by both Right and Left. By Muslims and Christians. I'm even privileged to be hated by anti-racists.
2. I acknowledge my privilege to be the only ethnic group in the United States that needs to fortify my schools, my community centers and my places of worship. But, as the Overland Park JCC attack showed, I can't fortify my parking lots.
3. I acknowledge my privilege to be the scum of the earth and at the same time be it's puppet master.
4. I acknowledge my privilege to be accused of being behind every major and minor disaster and terror attack. From 9/11 to the Paris attacks to MH370.
5. I acknowledge my privilege to fear to identify as a Jew in certain areas of the US today, such as college campuses.
6. I acknowledge my privilege to be denied the right to my identity, my history and my homeland. In today's United States, intellectuals expound on the idea of 'wiping out' my homeland, home to more than 6 million Jews, without ever wondering what will happen to the millions of refugees that will result (assuming they won't just be 'wiped out' as well).
7. I acknowledge my privilege to have a pseudonym - 'Zionist' - which is fine and dandy to hate and discriminate against.
8. I acknowledge my privilege to have spilled blood in the fight for racial equality, and today to be accused of masterminding racial inequality (as in "Jews enslaved the Blacks").
9. I acknowledge my privilege to have people like Maital Friedman deny the very existence of antisemitism, claim that it's a problem of the past, or claim that it exists but that Jews make too much of it, especially compared to other less-privileged minorities.
American Jews are privileged to live in a country that accepts them so, but it hasn't always been like that and nobody promises us it always will be. Friedman might be privileged to live in a neighborhood where she has never ever encountered antisemitism. She's lucky.
I offer her to read through Wiki's articles on Antisemitism in the US and Antisemitic attacks in the US.

Europe: Jewish leaders skeptical of Europe’s tough talk on anti-Semitism
As world Jewry bowed its head Tuesday during the funerals of the four French Jewish victims of Friday’s terrorist attack at a Paris kosher supermarket, senior European Jewish leaders were in Jerusalem as part of a one-day solidarity trip to Israel.
The leaders expressed frustration with what they see as empty rhetoric on the part of their elected officials, and demanded action to reassure their distraught Jewish communities that anti-Semitism and its more recent variant, anti-Israelism, were being addressed seriously. Emphasizing the value of broad-scale public measures, Michel Gourary, the CEO of the Israeli-Jewish Congress, said European politicians were sending weak signals. “Great expressions of sympathy are not sufficient,” he said, adding that after the murderous 2012 Toulouse attack at a Jewish school politicians had said there will be a “before Toulouse and after Toulouse.” “It was all words, words, words,” said Gourary. [...]
German delegate Nathan Gelbart, the head of Keren Hayesod Germany and a member of the Central Council of Jews in Germany, said he was well aware that the Paris attacks could be replicated at any Jewish “soft target” — schools, institutions, synagogues, shops — throughout Europe. He added that it was a “matter of coincidence” that the terrorism occurred in France. “It could be Germany and Switzerland tomorrow,” said Gelbart.
Gourary, a former Jewish Agency emissary to France, agreed, saying “there is a strong sense of a volcano that will erupt very soon” in Europe. “I’m beginning to question whether Europe is the right place to raise Jewish children and grandchildren,” Gelbart said, adding it may be time to join the Jewish majority and leave behind the feeling of being in a “zoo,” which he claimed many Jews have as a minority in the Diaspora.

Greece: "Hitler, you faggot, not only were you a damn fascist but you did not finish the job either…"
an analysis on the upcoming elections by antifascists in Greece.
(...)
There are party officials in Syriza who have more than instrumental relations with the far-right. Th. Karypidis, Syriza official in north Greece, and link with Aneksartitoi Ellines, caught media attention when he claimed on facebook that state TV is “controlled by jews”. In the same vein, E. Andriopoulou, Syriza representative, commenting on the military conflict in Gaza on her facebook said: “ Hitler, you faggot, not only were you a damn fascist but you did not finish the job either…”. We dread to think what will happen to the jewish communities in Greece, with Syriza in government, should there be another military event in the middle East…

EU: Israel drives Islamic State recruitement
Via Pinchas Inbari:
Middle East expert Pinchas Inbari writes that he has met with several senior European officials, who told him they see the Israeli-Palestine issue as the most pressing matter for Europe.
The logic goes like this: The Palestinians problem gets the Muslims and Arabs upset, and drives recruitment to Islamic State, which is a direct threat to Europe.
Which is why they intend to force Israel to submit to Palestinian demands.
Because Europe thinks a Palestinian state would somehow solve the Islamic State problem.
UK: Lord Sacks reveals British police thwarted terror plot against Manchester Jews
Lord Sacks also revealed that a terror plot against the Jewish community in Manchester had been foiled by police.
The plot, he said, “would have targeted synagogues and Jewish schools, and luckily that was thwarted by the police. So this is not just a scare about nothing – this is very real.”
Lord Sacks pointed out that several recent terrorist attacks, such as the slaughter of a rabbi and three young children at a Jewish school in the French city of Toulouse in 2012, and a gun assault in 2014 on the Jewish museum in Brussels in which four people were murdered, were carried out by “radical Islamists. All of them incidentally born in France. So the connection there is quite self-evident.”

UK: The Times reports from 'the Jewish border'
![]() |
| photo via Twitter |
The Times reports that an Iranian general was killed as "he visited Syria to oversee plans to build a missile base near the Jewish border."
Journalist Hugh Tomlinson claimed on Twitter that the original read "the Jewish State".
As if that makes everything okay.
Let's review reality for a second:
1. When the media attacks Israel, they say they're not being antisemitic, because 'Israel' is not the same as 'Jews'.
2. When the media reports on Israel, they sometimes refer to it as 'the Jewish State'. For no real reason, other than to remind their readers that we're talking about Jews here.
The media cannot comprehend that by bashing Israel they're increasing antisemitism in their own home countries.
By 'bashing Israel' I do not mean articles that thoughtfully criticize a certain Israeli policy (those are very rare), but rather articles which take any anti-Israel source as the gospel truth, get emotionally involved and indiscriminately throw around phrases like 'genocide' and 'ethnic cleansing'.
If you accuse Israel of genocide, you're accusing Jews of genocide. That seems obvious to most people, besides the media and politicians.
