France: Commemorative plaque commemorating Anne Frank vandalized

Lyon - the commemorative plaque affixed to the foot of Anne Frank's Chestnut tree at the Marc Aron square, in the 3rd arrondissement, was vandalized during the week-end. Thierry Philip, mayor of the 3rd arrondissement and also president of the Maison d'Izieu, and Jean-Dominique Durand, Deputy Mayor of Lyon, responsible for the patrimony and the memory of the veterans, denounced "a particularly abject and manifestly antisemitic act .”
