Belgium: Saudi-financed mosques teach hatred of Jews, gays

Via France24:
Teaching manuals in Gulf Arab-financed mosques in Belgium promote anti-semitic stereotypes of Jews and call for the persecution of homosexuals, according to a leaked Belgian intelligence report.

The texts used in mosques including the Brussels Grand Mosque call for gays to be stoned to death or thrown off buildings and describe Jews as "evil", the report by the OCAM national terrorism monitoring centre said.

The writings, which are used to train preachers and theology professors, were "inspired mainly by classical Islamic law from the Middle Ages," OCAM said in a copy of the report obtained by AFP on Friday.

They have "problematic content in terms of radicalism, xenophobia and anti-Semitism," the OCAM report said.

Belgian lawmakers say they will discuss the report next week.

European Parliament invites Iranian official said to have links with bombing of Buenos Aires Jewish center

Via European Jewish Press (Yossi Lempkowicz):
The Simon Wiesenthal Centre has protested the invitation made by the European Parliament to an Iranian senior official who is said to have links with the 1984 bombing of a Jewish center in Buenos Aires.

Alaeddin Boroujerdi, who is the Chairman for the Committee for Foreign Policy and National Security of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran, was invited for an ‘’exchange of views’’ at Tuesday’s meeting of the European Parliament foreign affairs committee (AFET) where is was due "to present further information on the Iranian position on regional developments, the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action and the current political situation in Iran."

According to Simon Samuels, the Simon Wiesenthal Centre Director for International Relations, Boroujerd is an Iranian alleged associate of top Hezbollah officials and of former Foreign Minister, Ali Akbar Velayati, who is sought under an Interpol red notice arrest warrant for alleged complicity in the bombing of the AMIA Jewish Centre which left 85 dead and over 300 wounded”.

UK "must end this appeasement and ban Hezbollah"

Via The Times (Richard Kemp):
Hezbollah is the most powerful terrorist organisation in the world. Yet Britain has proscribed only part of it: its military wing. This Thursday the MP Joan Ryan will lead a parliamentary debate aimed at designating the whole organisation, as the US, Canada and the Netherlands already do. Her chances are slim. The film Darkest Hour has reminded us of British ministers’ penchant for appeasement and, like Churchill, that is what she’s up against.
Hezbollah, the creation of Iran, emerged onto the world stage in Beirut in 1983, killing 241 US Marines and 58 French paratroopers in the most devastating terrorist attack before 9/11. Since then it has attacked in Latin America, Europe and the Middle East and planned strikes from Cyprus to Singapore. Last summer US authorities charged two Hezbollah terrorists with planning attacks in New York and Panama. Hezbollah is fighting to keep Assad in power in Syria and maintains an arsenal of 100,000 rockets in Lebanon, pointed at Israel.

Lithuania: Israeli attacked by Egyptian for "occupying Palestinian land"

Via Facebook:
Well Jew hatred is alive and well in the world, as I learned the other night when I was targeted for being an Israeli Jew. I arrived to Lithuania on Tuesday to travel and that same evening signed up for a pub crawl organized by my hostel. At one of the bars our group was standing outside when a random guy not connected to our group asked me where I'm from. I told him Israel then his eyes widened and he said that he's from my "enemy country." I asked him what he meant and he said that he's from Egypt. I tried to be diplomatic and told him that we're not enemies since there's a peace treaty, and that I've traveled to Egypt before and it's a nice place. He asked me if I'd served in the army, and what I "think of politics," and if I think the land of Israel belongs to Jews or to Palestinians. I continued to try to diffuse the situation so I just told him that I'm not at the bar to discuss politics. He kept asking and I kept dismissing him with the same answer. After a few times I shook his hand, told him to have a good evening, and went inside.

Later on throughout the night while inside I noticed that he kept staring at me. After about an hour he came up to me uninvited and told me "You're not from Israel because there is no Israel there is only Palestine." I still was trying to diffuse the situation despite the fact that he was obviously trying to manipulate me into a confrontation, so all I said was, "Look I don't know what you want me to say I'm from Israel." He repeated that there's no such thing as Israel, there is only Palestine, that we are occupying their land. Then he stuck his middle finger in my face. I was shocked and next thing I knew he also grabbed my cheek.

At this point he crossed the line by putting his hands on me so I straightened by hand between him and myself to create distance. I told him to get lost. His buddy came and told me to stop "attacking" his friend. I still was trying to keep my cool after all this continued to hold my hand out so that they wouldn't get close. Aside from keeping them away I was not physical. They still tried though with increasing aggressiveness to get close to me and I started to fear for my safety. Then the original one that spoke to me outside punched me in the face. I didn't try to punch him back and still just held my arm out to create distance. Then he took a glass beer cup, and smashed it over my head, shattering the cup.

United Kingdom: Those "... who froth hatred of Jews"

Via The Daily Mail (Peter Hitchens):
Like almost all suppressed reports about terrorism in London or Washington DC, the truth that is being kept from us is that great danger comes from Saudi Arabia, HQ of the most fanatical and intolerant Islamism on the market.
Nobody really doubts that this report, if published, would say that. The pathetic scraps of the document which Ms Rudd allowed into the open last week hinted strongly at it, for those who knew where to look.
Her statement said: ‘For a small number of organisations with which there are extremism concerns, overseas funding is a significant source of income.’
Hurriedly, she added: ‘However, for the vast majority of extremist groups in the UK, overseas funding is not a significant source.’ Why ‘however’? So what? If foreign funds are significant at all, that’s what we need to know.
Because she also said: ‘Overseas support has allowed individuals to study at institutions that teach deeply conservative forms of Islam and provide highly socially conservative literature and preachers to the UK’s Islamic institutions. Some of these individuals have since become of extremist concern.’
By ‘socially conservative’ they don’t mean me. They mean those who support the forcible shrouding of women and who froth hatred of Jews. How mealy mouthed to call it ‘conservatism’. But our Government is terrified of offending the Saudis, terrified beyond reason or self-respect.

UK: Chairman of British University in Egypt, asserts that “Rabbis” gathered to decide “how can we control the world?”

Via CAA:
Mohamed Farid Fouad Khamis, Chairman of the Board of Trustees at the British University in Egypt (BUE) and one of its principal donors, has promoted the antisemitic Protocols of the Elders of Zion.

Mr Khamis’ conspiracy-laden speech at a Cairo conference is particularly disturbing because there is close cooperation between the BUE, the British Government and universities in the UK.

The comments were made in a speech at the second annual conference on “Sustainable Media and Development for Arab Societies, Real Challenges and Future Prospects” which was organised by the El Shorouk Media Academy under the patronage of Dr Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, the Minister for Higher Education and Scientific Research in the Egyptian Government and the Head of the Egyptian National Committee to UNESCO.

Hungarian state TV airs Iranian leader calling George Soros ‘evil Zionist-American’

Via JTA:
A public broadcaster in Hungary broadcast an Iranian leader attacking George Soros as “an evil Zionist-American multi-billionaire,”  spurring condemnation from Hungarian Jewry.

On Wednesday “Hirado,” the main news show of the state MTVA channel, also included quotes from Sayyid Ali Hosseini Khamenei, the supreme spiritual leader in Iran, saying that Soros was responsible for destabilizing and defeating former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmedinejad’s regime.

Critics of the broadcast, including Mazsihisz, the umbrella group of Hungarian Jewish communities, said it risks stoking anti-Semitic sentiment.

...

Mazsihisz condemned the inclusion of the quote by Khamenei, saying in a statement Friday that it echoes the purest and most common form “of anti-Jewish sentiments in the Hungarian extreme-right media.” The umbrella group also noted that the MTI state news agency declined to quote or report on its statement because of what Mazsihisz said were concerns it might “damage the credibility of the state media and its business interests.”

Osama bin Laden’s son calls for attacks on Jews, Americans

Via Times of Israel:
A video released recently by the terror group al-Qaeda purportedly features one of the sons of Osama bin Laden calling for attacks on Jewish targets around the world.

In the 10-minute video, which features images of terror attacks around the world, including several in Israel, Hamza bin Laden encourages Muslims in “America, the West and occupied Palestine” to carry out lone-wolf attacks where they are instead of traveling to Syria or elsewhere.

“Know that inflicting punishment on Jews and crusaders where you are present is more vexing and severe for the enemy,” he says, according to a translation provided in the video, which was distributed by al-Qaeda media arm as-Sahab.

Bin Laden also suggests targets for the attackers, telling followers to “look for Jewish targets everywhere” and if there are none, to attack American or NATO interests.

Iran targets pro-Israel activists in Europe

Via Times of Israel:
A Pakistani man accused of spying on a German government official on behalf of Iran was reportedly part of a wider plot to assassinate pro-Israel activists in Europe.

German prosecutors on Monday indicted 31-year-old Pakistani student Syed Mustafa H. on espionage-related charges for allegedly spying on Reinhold Robbe, a former lawmaker and ex-head of the German-Israeli Society in 2015, a pro-Israel advocacy group.

The indictment accused Mustafa of spying for an unnamed Iranian intelligence agency from mid-2015 to his arrest in July 2016.

German security agencies believe Robbe was being eyed by Tehran as a possible assassination target in retaliation for an Israeli operation against Iran’s nuclear facilities, German media reported over the weekend.

According to the indictment, Mustafa in 2015 was recruited by the Iranian intelligence to follow Robbe, and complied a thorough “movement profile” of the former German-Israeli Society chairman.

Mustafa gathered information detailing Robbe’s day-to-day activities, paying particular attention to his commute to work at the Berlin offices of the German-Israeli Society.

Authorities said the detailed portfolio of Robbe’s travel habits was a clear indication of an assassination plot, public broadcasters NDR and WDR reported.

According to federal prosecutors, Mustafa’s intelligence gathering was part of a wider Iranian effort to identify possible targets with friendly ties to Israel, the reports said.

Kosovo holds Islamist suspects over plot to attack Israel soccer match

Via Times of Israel:
A Kosovo court on Friday ordered seven people suspected of plotting Islamist terrorist attacks to be detained for a month, officials said, as media reports said they planned to attack a weekend football match involving Israel.

The order follows a series of arrests in Kosovo and neighboring Albania and Macedonia in which a total of 15 suspected Islamic extremists have been detained.

The seven belonged to one network that notably planned to attack a stadium in the northern Albanian town of Shkodra during the country’s 2018 World Cup qualifier against Israel on Saturday, media reported.

The match will now be held in the central town of Elbasan for “security reasons.”

Earlier this week Israel said the Islamic State group had been planning attacks in the Balkans and specifically warned its citizens not to attend the upcoming Israel-Albania football match.

UK: Corbyn defends £20,000 payment for Iranian TV appearances

Press TV is an antisemitic channel.  Corbyn thinks they raise "human rights issues".

Via Times of Israel:
Controversial British Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn on Wednesday defended receiving £20,000 ($26,285) for a series of appearances on Iranian TV.

(...)
Corbyn told a Pink News Q&A on Wednesday that the payment for five appearances on Iranian state TV between 2009 and 2012 — revealed in the UK parliament’s register of members’ financial interests — was “not an enormous amount.”

Challenged over his Press TV appearances in light of Iran’s policy on the LGBT community — homosexuality is a crime punishable by prison, corporal punishment and execution in the country — Corbyn said the appearances enabled him to “raise a number of human rights issues.”

“I presented other programs in which I was able to raise a number of human rights issues, not just in Iran but other countries as well – and the money I was paid, which wasn’t an enormous amount actually, went on my constituency office,” he said.

France: Jews Oppose Cannes Screening of Film Sympathetic to Munich Terrorists

Via Forward:
The umbrella group of French Jewish communities objected to the planned marketing at Cannes of a film it said falsely blames Germans security forces for the deaths of 11 Israeli athletes held hostage by Palestinian terrorists at the 1972 Munich Olympics.

Roger Cukierman, the president of CRIF, made the objection in a May 3 letter to Pierre Lescure, president of the Cannes Film Festival, and to French Culture Minister Audrey Azoulay, CRIF revealed on its website Thursday.

Cukierman said he was “concerned” about the planned screening of the film, “Munich: A Palestinian Story,” at a promotional event for Arab cinema at the Cannes Film Festival.

The film depicts as freedom fighters Palestinians who during the Summer Olympics in Munich in 1972 are believed to have shot and killed at least two of 11 Israeli athletes they took hostage. It wrongly accuses German police of the killings, Cukierman said in the letter.

Directed by Nasri Hajjaj, “Munich” is part of a partnership between the Cannes Film Festival, which is one of the most important events in cinema, and the Dubai International Film Festival. This year for the first time, the Dubai festival sent a selection of Arab films, including the one about Munich, to Cannes’ Le Marche du Film — a platform for international cinema that takes alongside Cannes.

Italy: Islamist group hacks into Venice Jewish community library website

Via JTA:
An Islamist hacker group hit the website of the Venice Jewish community’s library and archive and posted pro-Islamist and pro-Palestinian messages on its home page.

Gadi Luzzatto Voghera, the director of the Renato Maestro Library and Archive, called the hacking incident Monday by the Tunisian Fallaga Team “in effect, a violent and targeted threat, of a type that was clearly anti-Semitic.”

Voghera said the library’s home page had been replaced for “several hours” by a dark screen with English-language slogans and videos inciting Islamist attacks in Tunisia and promoting the “fight for the liberation of Palestine.”

UK: Prominent Jewish PR director falsely accused of being an Israeli footballer as part of an apparent slur

The Jewish Chronicle reports:

Shimon Cohen
A prominent Jewish public relations director has been falsely accused of being an Israeli footballer as part of an apparent slur.

Bahrain football media officer Mohammed Al Mudaweb posted a series of tweets claiming PR Office founder Shimon Cohen - who is from Wales - was born in Tel Aviv and played football for Israel in the 1960s.

Mr Al Mudaweb appeared to have confused the Welsh spin guru with another Shimon Cohen, who was born in Tel Aviv and played nine times for Israel from 1962 to 1966, scoring one goal.

Mr Cohen’s PR Office is representing Jordan’s Prince Ali during his candidacy in the upcoming Fifa presidential election, for which former Bahrain Football Association president Sheikh Salman is the current frontrunner.

As part of his claim, Mr Al Mudaweb, posted a screenshot of a JC story about Mr Cohen being appointed to assist Prince Ali.

Reacting to the posts, Mr Cohen said: “This is a disgraceful racist attack by Salman's FA, implying that just because I am a Jew, there is an Israeli plot afoot.”

He observed that “a simple Google search would have shown that I am a Welsh PR guy, and not a retired Israeli footballer”.

Turkey: Conspiracy theory on national TV claims Israel is converting ISIS slave-girls, Haiti earthquake victims

TRT is the national public broadcaster of Turkey.  Their Arab channel is aimed at Arabs in Turkey, as well as the wider Arab world and Middle East.

Via Everyday Antisemitism:
A Gaza-based journalist has accused Israel of buying slave-girls from ISIS and converting them to Judaism, as well as exploiting terrorist incidents and natural disasters, during an antisemitic rant on Turkish television.

Tawfiq Abu Shomar made the accusations on 15th January in an appearance on the TRT Arabic channel, claiming that Israel does so in order to strengthen its Jewish population.

He said: “For a long time Israel has been striving to bring over the Jews, especially from Europe. They especially want the Jews of France, because they consitute the largest comunity, numbering half a million. My warning should be viewed in context. Israel attracts the (Jewish) immigrants, that’s true, but it also takes advantage of the circumstances in order to bring them.

“This is the main point. It uses natural circumstances, even earthquakes. During the 2010 Haiti earthquake, Israel brought over a large number of Haitians, and had them converted to Judaism. Many such children live (in Israel).

“Israel has benefited not only from France, but also from Iraq. It has brought over Yazidis. A large number of Yazidis are now being converted to Judaism and absorbed there. In addition to the ruling Jewish authorities, there are organisations abroad that buy slavegirls on the ISIS market and take them to Israel.”

Belgium: Islamic State terrorist mastermind says "we will be the ones who liberate Palestine"

Anti-Zionism justifies terrorism against Jews and it justifies terrorism against non-Jews.

Via i24 News:
The Islamic State group released a video Sunday featuring the messages from nine perpatrators of the Paris massacres which killed 130 people last November, and threatening "coalition" countries including Britain.

The 17 minute propaganda video, entitled "Kill wherever you find them," was posted on jihadist websites with French and English subtitles, and shows four Belgians, three French citizens, and two Iraqis said to be responsible for the attacks threatening more violence.

"Allah! Allah! On this day we will create rivers of your blood. With Allah's help we will be the ones who liberate Palestine," is the final message given by Abu Omer al-Baljiki, considered the "mastermind" behind the attacks.

Poland: Journalists don't think Palestinian Holocaust denial is newsworthy

A few months ago Abbas made statements to Polish journalists, both implying the Holocaust didn't happen and blaming the Jews for being the new Nazis.  This is quite common logic among antisemites.

At the time I put it aside until I could figure out whether any of the journalists who were present in the meeting thought this is newsworthy.   So far, I haven't found any.   If your'e a Polish journalist who reported about this, you're welcome to point me to your article.

Due to the uproar over Netanyahu's statement blaming Palestinian Nazi-cheering for the Holocaust, I thought it interesting to point out.   Blaming Jews for a new Holocaust is common discourse.   Holocaust denial is becoming common discourse.  Certainly not newsworthy.

Via PMW:
PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas in a speech before a delegation of Polish journalists in Ramallah, referred to Jewish suffering in World War II as a Jewish or Israeli claim that he is willing to respect:

"They say they made sacrifices in World War II - we respect what they say."

He made this statement in the context of libeling Israel, as the second half of his statement accuses Israel of doing to the Palestinians what the Nazis did to the Jews:

"They should not treat us the way they were treated [by the Nazis]. We must not be a victim of the victim. I did not do anything bad to him."  more
