Last autumn, a group of ‘anti-Zionists’ launched a harassment campaign against me. Charles Frith, a notorious Holocaust denier and particularly vicious Jew-hater, who had over 32,000 Twitter followers until Twitter suspended his account, telephoned my employers, Kingston University, posing as a job-seeker. After finding out the name of my immediate manager from an unsuspecting colleague, he sent a series of abusive and defamatory emails to me and my senior colleagues, accusing me, among other things, of ‘Zionism’, and turning Kingston into a centre for ‘child abuse’. Frith is someone who refers to the ‘fake 6m Holohoax figures’. He has tweeted that ‘the Auschwitz chambers were delousing stations in Germany and France’; that ‘Israel’s Mossad did 9/11’; that ‘Jewish Al-Sisi Runs Egypt; Now an Israeli-Occupied Territory’. He has blogged that the figure of six million Holocaust dead was fabricated before World War II, and that the real figure is ‘somewhere in between half a million to a million’. He has referred to David Cameron as a ‘Rothschild-Zionist tea boy’ and accused a senior British Jewish journalist of ‘milk(ing) the Holocaust gravy train like a 6 million lottery payout’. His last email to my university colleagues contained a disgusting war-porn picture, apparently of a graphically mutilated child, which he claimed was ‘Zionism in action’.read more
Frith had been set on me by his political fellow-travellers. One of these was Damian James Read, who Tweets under the name ‘@CockneyActivist’. Read is a supporter of Jeremy Corbyn and apparently a Labour Party member, and he likes posting pictures of himself online, dressed in Palestinian flags. When David Cameron tweeted in remembrance of the ‘millions murdered in the holocaust’, Read tweeted back that ‘I think you mean 300,000. An horrific event I agree. But not 6 million is it’. Read is on record as claiming that ‘our economy’ is controlled by ‘the Rothschilds’[and refers to the ‘Zionist controlled media’. [He asked rhetorically on Twitter ‘Is it true that the BBC is in fact a dept of the Israel Embassy ? Is that why so many Zionist [sic] seem to have been given top jobs ?’He has ‘liked’ a tweet saying ‘Fuck the Zionist Jewish Apartheid State’ another complaining that the ‘6 million figure seems to have been repeated ad nauseum throught 20thC. Nazis blamed’; and a third saying, in relation to Israel, ‘it’s God chosen [sic] people. God told they [sic] could commit genocide with impunity just like the Nazis’. Read claims he contacted Kingston University, asking them to investigate my online activities. He and his Twitter gang bombarded the Kingston University twitter account with defamatory tweets about me. [...]
Ironically, the same Schumann has repeatedly accused ‘Zionists’ and Israel (or ‘Israhell’, as he frequently calls it) of using ‘lawfare’ to silence critics of Zionism. Similarly, when I called Read out on his harassment of me, he attempted to justify himself with ‘I have only done what has been done to me and others.’These ‘anti-Zionists’ have created in their mind an image of what their ‘Zionist enemy’ is like, then emulate its supposed behaviour on the grounds that ‘if they can, we can too’. Historians of anti-Semitism are only too familiar with this form of projection.
This experience has really woken me up to just how poisonous part of the radical subculture that cloaks itself under ‘Palestine solidarity’ has become. It comprises a self-referencing clique divorced from the real world, whose vicious extremism is an end in itself. Their activism has little to do with the Palestinians, about whom none of them clearly gives a damn. They are obsessed by a different ethnic group. No prizes for guessing which.

UK: Shadow minister’s aide suspended over anti-Zionist posts
Via Jewish News (h/t CFCA):
An aide to the shadow international development secretary has been suspended after endorsing a series of social media posts on Zionism.read more
Elizabeth Dudley, who was a member of Kate Osamor’s parliamentary staff, ‘liked’ two Facebook posts from a West Bank activist, who Jewish News revealed yesterday is to speak at an event organised by Newcastle Palestine Solidarity Campaign.
One incendiary post from Iyad Burnat said: “To the American people do not bother to vote in the elections. The Zionists had identified the next president.”
Another post from him that was ‘liked’ by Dudley showed the bodies of dead children with the flag of Israel alongside the swastika. Wording above said: “Is the Zionists terrorists? What is the difference between Zionism and Nazism?”
Osamor told the Jewish News: “Having been made aware of these posts, the member of staff has been suspended with immediate effect.”

Croatia: Debate over use of Nazi-related greeting
Via B92:
Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic has reacted to a debate currently underway in Croatia about the use of the "Za dom spremni" greeting.
"For home ready" (Croatian: "Za dom spremni") was used by the Ustasha in the Nazi-allied Independent State of Croatia (NDH) - an entity that existed from 1941 until 1945 and operated death camps for Serbs, Jews, and Roma, including in Jasenovac.
Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic said over the weekend that "the issue" of the Ustasha greeting "should be solved by judicial organs."
"These days there is a debate in Croatia about how to legally arrange the use of the Ustasha greeting 'For home ready'. With the desire, of course, to allow its use," Dacic said, and added:
"In fact, this is a clear indicator of the state of affairs in Croatia, an EU member that is rehabilitating the fascist Ustasha NDH."
"Imagine such a debate, or the use of Nazi symbols in Germany, where one goes to jail for using the greeting 'Sieg Heil'. Or, if the swastika was used in any country, surely it would be associated with Hitler - although it's a symbol of Eastern religions. When Prince Harry wore a shirt with a swastika, the English public accused him of Nazism, not of Buddhism or Hinduism," said Dacic.
The minister in the caretaker government added that the "For home ready" greeting is tied with the Ustasha, their leader ("poglavnik") Ante Pavelic, who used it first in 1932, and with the Nazi Ustasha NDH.

Germany: 'Nazi Grandma' holocaust denier Ursula Haverbeck sentenced to jail
Via DW:
An 87-year-old woman has been sentenced to prison after she claimed that Jews were never exterminated in Auschwitz. Her criminal record includes two fines and another sentence for sedition.read more
A court in Detmold on Friday sentenced Ursula Haverbeck to eight months in jail on charges of sedition. The presiding judge ruled out the possibility of parole and said that Haverbeck had a lack of "any kind of respect" and that she had made more offensive comments in the courtroom.
Haverbeck is expected to appeal against the sentencing. In Germany, anyone who publicly denies, endorses or plays down the extermination of Jews during Adolf Hitler's regime can be sentenced to a maximum of five years in jail.
Haverbeck was found guilty of writing a letter to Detmold's mayor, Rainer Heller, saying it was "clearly recognizable" that Auschwitz was nothing more than a labor camp. She wrote her message at the time when the Detmold court was trying Reinhold Hanning, a former guard who served at the Auschwitz concentration camp.

Belgium: Ilan Pappé is the guest of conspiracy theorist Michel Collon
Ilan Pappé will be speaking at a conference organised by Belgian conspiracy theorist Michel Collon. The event is scheduled to take place on 25 September at Charleroi and is sponsored by the Belgian authorities (province of Hainaut). Pappé will be talking about the "Propaganda by Israel, how to spot it and how to combat [sic] it".
Who is Michel Collon? French feminist writer Caroline Fourest calls him the "king of Belgian conspiracy theorists". Michel Collon is a minor figure in the "anti-Zionist galaxy" and has never made it to the top. But he tries very hard and his anti-Zionist credentials and obsession can't be faulted...
Conspiracy Watch points out that Collon is a friend of truther and conspiracy theorist Thierry Meyssan. Michel Collon is pictured below with two big big stars Dieudonné and Thierry Meyssan.

"How can the truth be restored when the Zionist myths are omnipresent in the media and even in schools? How to argue in a way adapted to the audience level (especially the public from Europe, pummeled by its media)?"Michel Collon also has his conspirationist idea about who is behind the Charlie Hebdo massacre:
"The Kouachi brothers were in fact trained and armed by Fabius and his pals to make war on a government that was inimical to the multinational corporations from the U.S. and elsewhere."
Note: Laurent Fabius is a former French PS minister who is considered to be Jewish.
Several French far left groups have campaigned very efficiently against Collon because of his being a conspiracy theorist and connections with far right antisemitic groups. See Conspis hors de nos villes and Confusionisme.info.
Ilan Pappé seems to have no objections to be associated with the "king of Belgian conspiracy theorists"...

German Jewish leader: AdF rise is 'frightening'
Via The Local:
The head of the German Jewish community said the rise of the right-wing populist and anti-migrant AfD party was "frightening", ahead of a key state election Sunday.
The Alternative for Germany party is polling above 20 percent in the northeastern state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, where Chancellor Angela Merkel has her electoral seat.
Support for the AfD in the state is at a similar level to Merkel'sconservative CDU and just behind the centre-left Social Democrats.
"The voters aren't realising they are voting for a party that doesn't want to distance itself from the far-right spectrum," president of the Central Council of Jews in Germany Josef Schuster told AFP Friday.
The AfD, which gained support when Germany took in a huge influx of refugees, "offers just slogans, no solutions", said Schuster.

German teachers’ union urges total boycott of Israel
Obviously no calls for the boycott of Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Qatar etc. Only Israel.
From the Jerusalem Post (Benjamin Weinthal):
From the Jerusalem Post (Benjamin Weinthal):
The teachers union in the city of Oldenburg published an article in its September paper calling for a complete boycott of the Jewish state, sparking criticism from Israel’s embassy, German teachers and pro-Israel activists, as well as the Simon Wiesenthal Center.read more
It appears to be the first call to boycott Israel or Jews from a German organized labor group since the Holocaust. Critics accuse the union of stoking modern Jew-hatred.
The anti-Israel activist and teacher Christoph Glanz outlined the goals of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions movement in his two-page article in the magazine of the Education and Science Workers’ Union (GEW).
“The GEW is an important institution in Germany. That is why we are surprised and disappointed, that the Oldenburg chapter chose to re-publish the pamphlet of a BDS activist in its magazine,” the embassy told The Jerusalem Post on Thursday. [...]
The GEW article was titled, “Palestine/Israel: Documenting injustice and call for justice – not possible in Oldenburg?” The German-Israel Friendship Society (DIG) in Oldenburg – a city in Lower Saxony state with a population of nearly 164,000 – was the first group to slam the union’s leadership.
In a public letter released in August, the chairman of DIG-Oldenburg, Klaus Thörner, wrote that DIG “protests the publication of the article of the Oldenburg teacher Christoph Glanz... who is an activist of the anti-Israel and anti-Semitic BDS campaign.”
It is unusual for a mainstream German publication to call for a boycott of Israel, because the boycott of Jews was such a big part of the Nazis’ actions in the lead-up to the Holocaust.

France: Terror supporting Hanan Ashrawi to receive French Legion of Honor
From Elder of Ziyon:
Related: Katharina von Schnurbein, EU chief to combat antisemitism, meets with Ashrawi, whose Miftah pushes antisemitism
Palestine News Network and other Arab media have reported in mid-August:
read moreThis week PLO Executive Committee Member Dr. Hanan Ashrawi conducted separate meetings with diplomats at the PLO Headquarters in Ramallah.Let's take a"> look down memory lane at Ashrawi's accomplishments that allow her to receive this honor:
Dr. Ashrawi received French Consul General Hervé Magro at her office today, and in the meeting, Consul General Magro informed Dr. Ashrawi that the French government has awarded her the distinguished French decoration, “Chevalier de la Légion D’honneur” (Knight of the Legion of Honor). Dr. Ashrawi expressed her deep appreciation to France for the honor. The official ceremony will take place next month in Ramallah.
- She has called any Jewish civilian living over the Green Line a legitimate target of Palestinian resistance."
- During the Oslo process, in 1999, Ashrawi said that any two-state solution would be temporary, asserting that a single state (where Jews would be the minority) would be the ultimate answer.
- She has blamed Israel for the lack of Arab democracy.
- She has accused Israel of "enslaving" Palestinian Arabs.
- Her Miftah organization has published the blood libel against Jews, accusing them of using Christian blood for matzah.
- Ashrawi's Miftah organization still, today, has articles praising mass-murdering Palestinian terrorists like Dalal Mughrabi and Ahlam Tamimi as feminist role models.
- Ashrawi claims that Palestinians who live under Palestinian rule are "refugees" but Jews who were born in and expelled from Arab lands and who live in Israel cannot be given that title.
- Ashrawi says that the idea of Jews having access to their holiest site is "a declaration of war against Islam."
- She said, in reference to the terror attacks in Nice, " “The Palestinian leadership and people stand in solidarity with France and remain committed to nonviolence; we are opposed to any acts of extremism or terror targeting innocent civilians.” Yet her own organization says "Resistance in all forms against the armed colonial settlers and the army of occupation is a legitimate form of the struggle for freedom...Suicide bombing is the ultimate cry of help...."
- She claims that defining Israel as a Jewish state is racist, but the Palestinian Basic Law that declares that it is an Arab state does not seem to bother her.
- Her Miftah organization explicitly denounces EU policy of supporting peaceful co-existence and cooperation between Israeli and Palestinian groups.

UK Watchdog: British Jews 'Denied Justice'
Via Algemeiner:
British Jews are “being denied justice” by the country’s main criminal prosecution agency as it fails to crack down on antisemitic hate crimes, the head of a UK charity and antisemitism watchdog told The Algemeiner on Monday.read more
“The resulting atmosphere of impunity is enabling antisemitism in our country to grow and become increasingly violent,” said Gideon Falter, chairman of the Campaign Against Antisemitism (CAA), in reference to what he called the “woeful record” of the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) in combating the phenomenon.
“Earlier this year, we published our National Antisemitic Crime Audit. We found that, despite the crackdown promised in 2014, in 2015 hate crimes against British Jews surged to a new peak, with a 26 percent growth in crimes against Jews and a 51% leap in violent antisemitic crime,” he said.
One of the more significant finds of the audit, Falter said, is that “against the backdrop of major rises in antisemitic crime, the number of antisemitic crimes charges dropped.” According to the CAA, the CPS prosecuted 15,442 cases of hate crimes, “But we are only aware of a dozen prosecutions for hate crimes against Jews,” he said.
Norway Joins IHL NGO donor consortium supporting BDS and demonization
Via NGO Monitor:
As of June 1, 2016, the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs provided NOK 5 million ($600,000 – screenshot below) to the Human Rights & International Humanitarian Law Secretariat (Secretariat), managed by the Institute of Law at Birzeit University (IoL-BZU) in Ramallah and NIRAS – a European consulting firm.read more
The Secretariat funds non-governmental organizations (NGOs) active in BDS campaigns (boycott, divestment and sanctions) and other forms of demonization.
Some grantees have also promoted antisemitic rhetoric and have apparent links to terror.
The donor consortium, including Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands, and Switzerland, provides 80% of its four year budget ($10.38 million before Norway’s accession) to core NGO funding.
13 out of 24 core fund recipients support BDS;
11 out of 20 project fund recipients support BDS;
Core recipients promoting BDS receive $5.78 million of the $10.38 million.
Norway’s decision stands in sharp contrast to the Dutch Parliament’s resolution (June 2016) calling for a review of its funding to the Secretariat over concerns about BDS support.
The Swiss Parliament will vote on a similar resolution following criticism from journalists and a motion questioning Swiss funds to the Secretariat signed by 41 MPs from different parties. This criticism includes alleged involvement of officials from the PFLP terror organization (details below) and disproportionate salaries.
