France: Jewish candidate gets death threats
Hagay Sobol, a Jewish candidate for the Socialist Party in the municipal elections in Marseille received death threats by phone and social network. Sobol reports that the man who called him identified himself as a Jewish activist of the right-wing UMP.
The caller criticized Sobol for his "filthy collaboration with an antisemitic and anti-French party" and that after the elections "God will deal with traitors like you".
Sobol says that though the man presented himself as a Jew and used the name "Simon Hanavi" (The Prophet Simon), his language was that of the far-right and this was an antisemitic attack.
