The staff of the Tony Garnier school in Bron, next to Lyon are striking because the school management is not dealing with racist and antisemitic harassment targeting one of their colleagues.
In one such incident, students made drawings of their teacher riddled with bullets and added antisemitic inscriptions.
The teacher reported such incidents many times, but got no response. The local teacher's union accuses the principal of trying to cover up the antisemitic abuse.
