Scotland: Antisemitic attacks more than doubled last year

The Scottish government released its report "Religiously Aggravated Offending in Scotland in 2014-15"

Via CFCA:
In 2014-15, 569 charges were reported with a religious aggravation under section 74 of the Criminal Justice (Scotland) Act 2003. This represents a decrease of 4% from 2013-14, a decrease of 17% from 2012-13, and a decrease of 37% from 2011-12. There were 5911 charges reported in 2013-14, 689 charges reported in 2012-13 and 897 charges reported in 2011-12. The figures for the preceding five years were relatively stable, with between 600 and 700 charges reported each year.

These trends may have been influenced in the last three years by the separate use of charges under section 1 of the Offensive Behaviour at Football and Threatening Communications (Scotland) Act 2012 (OBFTC).

Nonetheless, Jews are attacked way beyond their proportion in the population.  Also, while there has been a decrease in the general figures, attacks against Jews more than doubled in the past year, bringing the numbers back up to the figures of 2012-2013.

58% of the attacks were against Roman-Catholics - 3.6 times their percentage in the population.
12% of the attacks were against Muslims - 8.6 times their percentage in the population.
4% of the attacks were against Jews - 400 times their percentage in the population.
