Netherlands: Municipality honors Nazis and Jews in WWII memorial

Via Omroep Brabant:

The Maasdonk municipality put up a World War II memorial for "all victims of the violence of war".  The monument commemorates the Jews who were murdered, Dutch citizens who were killed in battle, and one Johan Schel, who died fighting for the Nazis.

The municipality had wanted to put up the memorial for all victims in 2012, but due to resistance to the idea, put up a general monument listing no names.  Recently, the monument was upgraded to list names.

The monument does not mention that the Jews were killed for being Jewish.
